Custom exhaust sounds....
I'm planning on making a custom exhaust for the TL. I plan to remove the cats, leave the resonator, and install two straight-through mufflers such as these...

I want more power, but the last thing I want is to sound like a "rice" car. How will this exhaust setup sound compare to the riced out civics and the such? Any sound/video clips would be great.

First off if you would like to remove the cats you should refer to the thread on the custom J-Pipe... - https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=166372
this is a possible setup in the works via Lookinco (major mod-head), all 3 cats removed
secondly buying those canisters off eBay for that price will equal rice rasp no matter what you do... I suggest you go ahead and look for something that has been proven to show gains... As a matter of fact the site where I got mine hooked me up so good I am going to link you to the canister you need to get.... $125 a piece retail on them is $175
http://www.performancecenter.com/par...SKU415-99-1470
the other alternatives you have are the Tanabe WS2 or N1 or the HKS N1... the 3 prior are all quality parts

You spend over $25k on this car, yet you wanna spend $18 for mufflers AND without them sounding ricey?
I just don't get it, was this meant as a joke?
Or perhaps a little too much?

I have a magnaflow resonator, third muffler removed and maganaflow mufflers on my car. The sound is nice... deep growl in the lower rpms, but then it fades out about the time that the VTEC hits so then you hear the CAI...
Doesnt sound 'ricey' in my opinion, but that is me. I listened to all of the sound clips in the above mentioned thread, but i actually liked what I have on my car now better.
Oh, it even has the stock exhaust tips welded onto the magnaflow mufflers so it looks completely stock (although very little on my car is stock)
I will see if I can get you a sound clip sometime today...

Nah man put some skunk2 or tanabe canisters on that bad boy...
Then remove the stock mid muffler you will have a stage 1 with upgraded mufflers... guarantee no rasp
