I have an 05 AT TL and want to get R- package and a Catback exhaust. First question is do I get the non resonated 3rd cat or the non-resonated straight pipe, if I don't want too much noise? Also, I have the money for the R- package but unfortunately won't have any more money for another 6 months for the exhaust system :-( So will the the car sound fine with the R- alone?

I realize that I will not be getting full gains with the package alone but I just want to get something for my car right now and just want to make sure that it doesn't sound weird for 6 months.

Thanks for the help!

By the non-resonated pipes, are you referring to the Race & Test Pipes? If so, the test pipe is more resonated.

As for the exhaust, I'll let you know. I won't have any money for an exhaust for a while, so it'll be running on my stock one.

The options are, "Specify resonated 3rd cat or non-resonated straight pipe at checkout." Which one do I want if I want less noise? When are you getting yours installed?

this is a great post, now i'm trying to do mine and need feedback, is this a ideal setup

RV6 Pre Cat, ATLP Jpipe and Race Pipe... Exhaust will come later...

and would the race pipe be ideal or the 3rd cat (resonated) by RV6 be ideal?

Thank for the help!!!

As greco said, the resonated one will cause less noise. Mine will be installed whenever they get here. I ordered yesterday, so I'm guessing 2-3 weeks unless Ritchie has them back in stock.

Before my purchase, this was what I had in mind.

RV6 Pre-Cat Delete=ATLP J-Pipe=RV6 Race Pipe=Exhaust

I was told this was an ideal setup on the first page, so it shouldn't be any different for you.

that's pretty much every major mod available for our cars except for the race/test pipe.

you're going to feel a major boost in hp, all at once.

Well, just want to thank everyone again for all their help. And major kudos to R-V6 for Rich's great service.

Got my pipes in today, and can not wait to get 'em installed.

Whoops. I hate to double post, but I think I may have a problem.

I noticed in Rich's picture on his site that there were 4 gaskets, but it seems I did not receive any. Do they only come with the Test Pipe?

BTW, already sent an e-mail to Rich as well.

You'll have to wait a few days, mate. Having the gaskets sent in a couple of days.

After a few days of having them on, I notice the car seems to pull a little bit more in the low end range, so shooting from 30-70Mph comes pretty fast now. Sound wise, I've only noticed a deeper tone in the intake on WOT.

It still needs the exhaust to really take advantage, but I am happy with them. Need to do a dyno to see what they make now, and what they make with the exhaust. I'll probably do that when the exhaust comes & ask Jotech to do it.
