CT supercharged

sorry if this has been discussed before. For those with the CT supercharged in your 3rd TL, how does it drive comparing to stock and do you think it worth it to get one.
thanks.

it is if you want to go fast, but if your going for just looks than prob not, I got it cause I enter car shows and most of my friends are N/a so it's good I like how it sounds too, go to youtube.com and type in supercharged tl and there's a guy's car that launches it a few times and it's nice.....

It addes 65whp, significant enough for you to say "whoa" but nothing you'd be out there winning every race.

and if you were planning on racing at all ... you would have been better off with a different car haha I think the ctsc is just enough to redefine the term "spirited driving" for us TL owners ... including the term "empty pockets" @___@

It is worth it. It makes the car feel like it has a V8. And the whine is so crazy.

And truely...again...talking about what you have NO idea. You dont even have a supercharger dude....WTF would you know about it? Really?

Dont listen to this dude.....he doesnt know WTF he is saying most of the time. He PMs people for answers to peoples questions most of the time and then presents them like he knew what he was saying. He didnt even put on his own CAI system for gods sake!

i plan on keeping this car for many more years so i want to enjoy it, and the s/c is the icing on the cake

I don't do street racing but i would like to have the speed in my TL. Sound like the CT supercharged is a good investment. The only thing i am afraid is that my car is still under warranty and i don't want to modify anything that could void it. Maybe i should wait til my warranty ran out then get myself a supercharger . BTW...what is the different between turbo and supercharged. thanks.

Have one on my 06. Bad-ass. U won't regret it. It will get pricy; About $5000 for the blower, & it cost me $725 to reflash the ECM (strongly recomended to max out gains) but I think there are other reprograming options out there. And thats if you install the blower URSELF like me & some of these other guys did. If not, I was quoted about $1300 for the install that would take about 13 hrs. It pays for itself once you leave a wanna-be hardass driving a 3.5 ltr Altima SE in the dust! ....or better yet,,,a V8 mustang. They never see u coming!

well, both the turbo and superchargers are forced induced systems; they basically force more air into the engine.

the difference is that a supercharger it uses a belt that connects directly to the engine in order to run the air compressor. on the other hand, the turbocharger is bolted to the exhaust manifold. The air coming from the exhaust goes into the turbine which then spins the compressor, forcing the air into the engine.

Another difference is that b/c the supercharger is bolted directly to the engine, there is less of a lag versus the turbo, which has pretty good amt of lag.

Also, the supercharger can't boost as high as some turbos.

Finally, superchargers themselves, cost more than the actual turbo itself. However, a complete turbo kit can run much higher than a supercharger.

hope this helps a little bit.
