To the fellow who said Comptech wouldnt ship....well...I can tell you the credit card charge showed up on my card just as expected...which would probably mean Nate shipped the parts out JUST LIKE HE PROMISED. Rest assured folks.....Nate is on the up and up. He isnt out to rip anybody off whatsoever. Maybe some pipe dream will occur and he will get some needed financial backing before it all falls down - but if this doesnt happen...I can tell you the fella is not gonna take anybody for their money and is gonna do his level headed best to fullfill any order he takes. I know he was checking inventory when I called and asked....so its not like he is just taking orders and money and seeing if he has parts to ship later.

Lets just pray for an investor before the next few days! Everybody do the investor dance!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CompT...spagenameZWD1V

but it says 04-05
whats the difference? its going on a 2006 tl.

i wonder if we could get a page going for companies that rebuild or fix these. since they are gone and all.

According to Lookinco, the ECM wiring harnesses are completely different starting in 2006.
So, one fo two things, you either have to repin the piggyback (after confirming it's compatible, or create your own piggyback solution via an emanage, ... or dump it.

Actually the supercharger kit is perfectly compatible on 04-05 and 06 TL. The instuction that comes with the supercharger will have two different wiring diagram, one for 04-05 and one for 06.

O man. A co-worker told me about Comptech going out of business last night. I didn't believe him, thought it was just a rumour. Then he said he heard it from AZ! Today I checked it out and here I am typing this pinching myself to try and wake me up from this bad dream...NOOO!!

For those looking for parts information....here is a thread I made with the official parts list that came with the 3G Comptech Supercharger....

https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/well-there-used-road-there-154361/

There is a viewable JPG file of the list as well as a downloadable PDF file.

In the Second Gen section, there is a twin thread to this one.

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=154081

And, here is an infomative post from that thread

They are selling desks, machines, inventory, furniture. etc. I talked to my sales rep today and this is what he told me. On Friday they were forced to let 12 people go. The company has been in trouble the last 2 years due to declining sales. The people seem to want high quality performance mods but at discount prices. Because other people do alot of the actual manufacturing of their parts they have move overhead and expense then you might think. Also becuase of this trouble alot less parts were in stock which led to long shipping delays. They are still open for the time being. They have a skeleton crew there to fill orders which are in stock. If the part is not in stock then your money will be refunded along with a note stating why. Don't get your hopes up guys - they are not giving the stiff away. I might be making them an offer to buy the TL exhaust inventory - if the price is right.

If you currently have a supercharger on your car your not totally out of luck. The blower is made by Paxon. You should be able to get parts for them from the manufacture. You might even see Paxon sell the supercharger kit under their brand name. I belive Comptech has lost alot of back end money that they were making on the racing end. I belive they were at one time prepping Honda race engines (maybe even CART engines). They will be open untill ends are tied up. I don't belive any new orders are being taken. If I do purchase a part of the inventory I will post a thread. Losing Comptech is a huge blow to Honda and Acura tuning. There are not many companies that produce high quality items for our cars. Was there stuff expensive yes. Is there stuff out there as good - not much. I feel the price of Comptech items will go through the roof once they are closed (ala Mugen). You will not realize how good you had it untill its gone.

Actually....Acura of Lynwood (from what I have heard) has purchased $80,000 in remaining Comptech inventory from what the rumor is.

My package came today. They sent me a SS kit from a TSX instead of a TL. Now I have to spend a day just to get them back on the phone.

The TSX and TL kit are the same. The only difference is the instructions that come with it.

This is a sad day for me learning of this today. I wanted to thank Comptech for making parts to push a car further that was already ahead of the game. I purchased a 2000 TL Jan 00' and loved it. First brought an icebox only to find it didn't fit, well they didnt give up and came up with the hole in the box that allowed it to fit. Helped me with the header rattle. Put the Brembo grand turissmos on from them, best upgrade. The B pipe I bought didnt fit but I had to sell it to someone with a type S but at the end of the day I was able to put the supercharger on my 2000 TL completing my dream and allowing me to keep the fun in owning my 2000. Even though the 2000 didn't have a specific kit, I couldn't have done it without their tech support and detailed instrustions and parts lists which a lot of manufacturers don't spend a lot on. I will truely miss their products and I was just thinking about an NSX with comptech parts. Oh well. Thank you Nate and others and best of luck to you all in the future.

I am with you there. A truely sad day. My previous car a silver 2000 TL had Comptech springs, Comptech exhaust, and Comptech sway bars. Top notch quality and support. I was hoping they would make something for the RL....

Damn I just logged on for the first time today, and did a search for "carcovers" and it revealed this post....This sucks because I have the RSB and when I installed it scratched the bar and has some rust on it. I was thinking about buyin a replacement but I don't know now.

My RSB is still fine, but I never had the chance to check if it's okay down there.

I don't get it. Why are some of you saying "this will be my last Acura?" Is it because of the aftermarket stuff for our TL's?

^^and the lack or near nonexistance of them......yep. Plus the fact that it costs so much for such little gains. I could have had a supercharged Caddy with 500+HP for the cost of what I have in this thing.

Comptech closing will have little to no influence on whether I buy another Acura. The only comptech part I considered and purchased was the rear sway bar, and there are others out there.

My main concern is that Acura goes RWD, not whether there is a supercharger.

I agree... the only thing I cared was the RSB. I'm sure all Acura's will be RWD.
