Same here. I want that short shift kit and can't get ahold of anyone.....
I also wanted to buy the supercharger, but I currently don't have the time/space to install it.

If all I wanted was a short shifter...I would say order it from ANY of the million distributors or dealers that already have em in stock. They are not likley to blow those out to end users at a discounted price buying one-sies and two-sies. They are gonna be looking for wholesale distribution to pull their parts from em at discount in large lots most likely.

This is gonna be a LONG thread before its over.....
RIP
Just remember....SERVICE KITS...SERVICE KITS....SERVICE KITS. If we cant talk them into coming out with a service rebuild kit for our superchargers...we are screwed.
Above is an uploaded JPG logo image for those that are sentimental. Get it while you can!

Mercedes Benz AND BMW are completely different car segments than Honda with completely different typical buyer pocket books to back em. Comptech has always been upper end...Honda is not upper end. When I spoke to DeMaree today about the closing...they were not at all suprised. He stated that with all the Honda and Acura work he has done and as much respect he has for Comptech...it was generally considered overpriced and in many regards, unsalable after quoting the numbers to typical Honda customers in comparison with other products that were out there. He said even the NSX guys wouldnt pop for superchargers when they found out they were $10,000+, which in his opinion...was overpriced. Just a small example. But...while I think it would be great if Honda bought Comptech....for many reasons, some of which are spelled out above...this would and will not happen. It would be more likely that Hondata would buy em...but again..not sure what Hondata would have to gain that they wouldnt gain anyway just by watching them go under? It would make for an interesting match though....would really like to see it happen if for nothing else...to give us hope for future support. I still have the warrantee card sitting on the table for my supercharger ready to send in...guess I wont be bothering with that huh? And was I the only one who got two tiny little fender stickers that say "supercharged by Comptech" in my box? Never heard anybody else mention them. I havent used em...they are sitting right next to the warrantee card on the table. Sounds like I could have some overpriced relics soon!

Comptech needs to make sure all drawings for their parts - pulleys, SCs, etc - get bought up by Honda or Hondata or whoever. It'd be a shame to have all that research go to waste with Comptech closing. =(

Comptech's not really closing, no, no, that's just their way of stimulating more sales you know! It's still February, the business is a little slow so...!
On a more serious note, it would be great if Josh/ Excelerate could chime in and give us some concrete answers on issues of warranty, replacement service parts and accessories.

This truely sucks.
I did call them a few days ago to ask some questions and the techs seemed to not give a shit to what I was asking. But I heard airtools in the backround.. they were either tearing the shit down or installing stuff haha.

damn this thread grew fast...i remember reading it when the only post was the initial one...
well, nothing lasts forever...you don't know what you got till it's gone...blah blah blah...
this sucks...i was looking forward to the RSB and maybe the exhaust once i got some money together...maybe they'll make a comeback one day...or start from scratch under a different name...
time to go look for comptech parts in stock elsewhere before they're gone...

I advise everyone whom may actually get someone at Comptech to take an order to be very wary. When a company makes this move to close the doors, they could care less about paid orders. Buyer beware.
Do not hold your breath for that package.
If you really need a CT item, look at eBay or another vendor whom stocks CT parts...
MB, if you find the service kit or hose for the S/C, help me.............
From a CF Shroud buyer...
