Hi guys-
One thing I'm curious about - on an '08 TL 3.2 - if you have the V3 j-pipe and the rest of your exhaust is stock - if you added the RV6 high flow cats would you notice A) a power increase and B) an exhaust note/growl increase?
Would love to know these two answers.

^Morissey-Do you think an Injen CAI with RV6 Jpipe & the HFPC would be a good combo for a TL-S? Did you notice a huge gain with just these mods, or would you say you need Richie's exhaust to really notice any gains.
I LOVE Richie's exhaust but I feel it is to loud for daily driving, not only this but cops here love writing exhaust tickets..

CAI or not, the gains with just the J-pipe were amazing. I'm not sure if I noticed the J-pipe gains more because it was my first modification to the exhaust. I would be curious to know what the gains would feel like if I installed the HFPC's first...
Either way, the HFPC and J-pipe combo are absolutely amazing. From my personal experience and all of the reviews that I read about the RV-6 line of products, I don't think that you can go wrong with any combination of products.
I am not sure of your level of DIY-ness, but I HAD to pay someone else to install the HFPC's for me. If you are the same as me, you will be looking at the cost of the HF Cats and installation fees that will put you around $800-$900... The exhaust was such an easy install and it looks so damned amazing... Why not just spend a couple extra bucks and go for the exhaust... Im sure it wouldn't be to loud with the stock cats on...

Would the gains be that incredible to go to HFPC's or just stay with Type-S cats' and run Rv6 Jpipe-3 and truduals (if you could get a set) say if the extra money right now isn't swingable.......
That should give it a little lower tone - guarentee no rasp. and still open up the engine after a 14" cat.
Or is there a market to sell s cats to reg. tl owners??
And install would not be a prob. with modern technology - pneumatic tools and specialty tools coming down in price and availability. (Still want my jetpack)
I decided to get some H&R springs so those installed will take away from PC's at current moment. Scared of heights.

As for the other question... If Richie said that he would produce more exhausts, then I would jump on them ASAP!!! But since it looks like that won't happen for some time (if at all), then go ahead and get the HFPC's.

I think I will PM or call Richie and see if he even is thinking about doing the True Dual Exhaust again. Thanks man.

Here is a sound clip while driving through a tunnel. My camera doesn't quite capture the feel and the sound of it all but you'll get an idea for yourself

I suppose if anybody has a hook up with Dyno testing in the Tri-State area then let me know
And I promise that I will go and take another film in a tunnel and I promise that I will do a better job. My camera is in the car and its waiting for another opportunity to face a tunnel.

Here is my second try at the Tunnel. I stopped and gave one rev and then went through. The car shifted to 2nd but I wasn't really able to capture the sound there. I think that I'll have to take another trip through.

Anyway I'm ok with it now. It's just yesterday I had to explain to a pregnant woman sitting in the back of my car why my luxury vehicle sounds like this.
ME: "So ya, i did it for performance... "
Lady: "But the BMW M3 is faster and not as loud"
ME: *Steps on the gas* "WHAT?!"

This made my day.

This thread made me bit the bullet and finally order the HFPC. I have to say it was money well spent. I definitly feel a little bit of a power gain and I feel like there is a more low end torque gained from them. They also changed the sound of the exhaust setup a little, it sounds more aggressive than before (ATLP Base-resonated/Rv6-v3 jPipe). It's definitly worth the money if you have it to spend.

Here's my 2 cents. Have been running These HFC for about 2 week all I could say is WOW. Car feels lighter, excellent response, power gain is very noticeable. Quality and fittment top notch. The car has a deeper tone but raspy as hell at wide open throttle driving normal no rasp and I have no smell at all. Money well spent I love them.

As far as any differences with J-pipes and catbacks between the different vendors... It is all personal preference. The exhaust note might be more aggressive with one over the other, cost may be a factor, or even timing... The great part about this forum is that there is so much knowledge and experience to pull from... There are so many videos and reviews out there so that we may make an educated purchase
I for one know that the RV-6 line of products is top notch and I would recommend their products to anyone. Richie has always been a great guy to do business with and he has done so much for the ACURA/Honda community.

Morrissey25: what did you end up doing with your TLS pcats?
#159
Sorry for bumping an old thread. Noob here: but does anybody know what the MPG would is like with this set-up. I currently haven an AEM v2 CAI installed but am interested in getting the HFPC, rv6 j-pipe and exhaust and just wanted to have an idea of the mpg after the mods. My car is an 08 TL type-s automatic transmission.
Thanks in advance

I get 24 mpg with the mods below, probably 65% highway with my "sticky" all season tires (Bridgestone potenza re970s = awesome)
26 mpg when I had less sticky all seasons (nitto motivo)
