Yo i dont got a tl-s but got a base with full bolt-ons on a base tl. You can compare my rv6 v3 vs ur prototype since that's ur competition. D

kingkong....I could give you a deal on a cat-back if you want one. I would prefer to test with our system on.

winkyyy...I was not looking to test on a car with PCDs right now...but I will need to later. Email me at support@heeltoeauto.com

Speeding up the process, if you have the stock PCD's install them back on and go in!

I do but it's a pain in the ass just to reinstall it. So I probably wont be going that route.

I'd rather get a root canal without novocain than do a double swap on the cats.

The hard part about it is the heat shields. Swapping back isn't that big of a deal if you leave the shields off. IMO anyway. I've done it 3-4 times on different cars and it sucks more every time I do it (the worst so far is an 8th gen accord).

Ok just wondering if the "rasp" from the rv6 was the overall tone, or the tinny noise that comes in for a second once it starts getting high up in the rpms???? I never know what you guys are specifically calling rasp. I liked the tone of the rv6 pipe better but did not like that brief tinny noise that chimed in. What was that?

I need a TL or TL-S with stock cats and an ATLP exhaust to move forward.

catsesbros, the rasp we are referring to is the high pitched sound you hear in the lower RPMs in our video.

^ You should dyno 2 different TL's. One with just the ATLP catback and the other with PCDs and whatever else to compare the gains with other mods. Would be worthwhile.

Sure I can, but it would be nice if someone already had one. Truth be told I am more concerned about stock cats than the cat-back at this point.

Marcus, is this going to be made of T304 or 409? If it's the latter, I think I'll have to pass. It just doesn't hold up as well to Northeast Winters.

The 409 holds up just fine. It gets a patina on it but we have sold a lot of these to people in your area and really have had no issues related to the material of the piping at all. 304 is nice and shiny but doesn't bend as nicely.

That certainly could! If it is a Manual car Email support@heeltoeauto.com

That's too bad. I don't know as that I'd call this a "patina" on my three year old (at the time of this picture) ATLP V1/race pipe. The piping just has surface rust, but the flanges are coming apart. I would think that if your goal is to build the best, most expensive J Pipe on the market you'd use the best SS. The bends on the Excelerate and RV6 look fine to me.

Or coat the pipe in ceramic or coat it so it'll turn color once it's heated..

^ Shouldn't have to coat a $450-500 pipe to prevent it from rusting over.

Ouch Anx, that looks pretty bad. It looks like the pipe is deteriorating. I doubt that would go down under a "manufacturers defect" in the sense that it'd be covered under warranty. Sorry to see that man.

I agree with you to an extent on the 304/409 debate. However, with 304, I guarantee the price would increase another 20%, which would ~$90-100. I'm sure some would like that comfort and pay up, but some would be turned off by the price. I do agree that 304 looks to bend pretty well...

For reference, here's 304 next to 409, and the cat back has actually been on the car for two months longer. I want this pipe if it ever becomes available, but it just doesn't make sense financially if it's going to end up like this one.

Not yet, but these pics are a year old, so I'd imagine it's worse now. I was going to have a new flex portion welded in, but now I'll probably just replace the whole pipe. I've been holding off for developments on this pipe and debating between this one and the XLR8 V2. The RV6 is nice too, but I'm more into the top end!

So Marcus, can you give us any more information on where you are at in the process? Im interested in buying but want to know how long I need to wait around. Does it look likely to happen in the next month or so or are will it be a while? Its or RV6 and I'd prefer this but just want to see what my realistic wait will actually be and if its actually going to happen and be worth waiting for. Just an update.........

I'm curious to know if us guys that have the race pipes with the ever so clever heat shield bolted up to pass visual inspection, will still have this option to keep that with the new J-Pipe....
