CAI -- which for 2004 TL AT

I know this question has been posted in different ways all over the board, but I've seen some really messed up placements of the cone filters on installed intakes and want to know from those who have installed CAI's on their 04 TL's (automatics), which intake did you go with (model number) and did it install so the filter is directly behind the preexisting bumper vent? I want to order my CAI knowing that what I'm ordering has successfully been setup on other 04 TL's, one purchase, one install, best CAI for HP on the 04 TL. Hit me up, any help is much appreciated.

AEM, Fujita, Injen. They ALL fit where you want it. They're the same in terms of performance.

Fujita CAI

I have an 04 5AT with the Fujita CAI. It went on pretty easily considering I have a small garage with little to no space to work on such things. I don't believe the filter is directly behind the bumper vent - can't remember seeing looking straight onto the car, I think it sits up from there slightly. Haven't had any water problems from puddles or rain.

pm Excelerate - he'll get you the model number you'll need and give you a good price.

I have had both the Injen and the AEM on my 2005 Automatic TL and I would recommend the AEM between those two. If you do a seach....I did a complete writeup a while back as to the reasons why. No experience with the Fujita unit though.....it was barely out back when I was doing these mods.

Here ya go....my experience...

Follow up: being new to the world of Mods, the CAI, I believe you can clean the cone filter, correct? Since you're removing the intake filter box during installation (and that filter can be changed) how do you keep containments from building up/getting into your engine, do you need to replace the cone filter, etc. Here to learn, go easy...lol..thanks.

Fujita is the best price/performance your going ot get. $150 bucks shipped to your door! It comes with the high-end cone filter and intake placement is essentially in the same place as the original OEM unit. It takes about 2 hours for a complete novice to put on the car. Really can't go wrong. AEM is also used by others on here but is about $50 more expensive and there may be additional connections you need to do on it that you don't need to do on the Fujita.

fujita cai

ya know, those filters dirty up pretty quickly, for me atleast; a brand new one is 40 dollars, but with the fujita stock filters, you can use the k&n recharger to clean it...just don't lube it...

Fujita all the way, i'm a complete noob at doing mod. I did this on my own. It took me about 2 hours following the steps on the videos. Now i get better response when i step on the gas. I think i'm getting better MPG also.

I just have no idea how often i have to replace the filter if i have to replace or can it just be clean with some sort of solution?
