Burned out CAT

04 TL, check light came on, sent to dealer and they found the #3 CAT burned out ( Service advisor quote " When we took it off, the core fell out in pieces" ).

Has anyone else with the CT SC experiance this problem?

Thanks.

Thanks lembowski! I didn't use the right search wording before posting!!

This maybe become a big headache for CT as many of the dealers in CA sell and install their SC on the assumption that it will not harm the TL through regular wear and tear. But having CATs going out so soon isn't going to fly with Acura. Perhaps their programming is running a bit too rich.

Can anyone else who has had this problem log it here?

BTW, Pro Cats are out... Smog Inspection Stations here are brutal and per CA law, it's illegal, it's also a big NO-NO with the dealers here ( voids warrenty ).

Thanks!

I'm going to close this and ask you to post in the other thread, since it is already running with several comments and yours doesn't have any actual replies yet. This is easier than merging and will keep the other thread cleaner.

Thanks. lembowski.
