On Saturday I stopped by Wally World and parked a couple of spaces away from a NBP TL out in BFE. The first thing I noticed while checking it out was that it had the nice black calipers with Acura on them in the front. Funny thing is, the diameter of the rotor seemed to be the same as mine (5AT). I thought the Brembo's were larger than the regular brakes (am I mistaken?). Is it possible to put the calipers that come with the Brembo's on the the regular 5AT rotor?

 

They are different sizes, no you cannot just swap the calipers, there are more different components then you think. Easier said than done.

 

Visually I don't think you would be able to see the small difference in rotor size, unless they were right next to each other.

cTLgo is correct, go with an aftermarket option if you want a BBK...its easier to do and probably cheaper too.

 

Thanks guys...I just assumed the Brembo's were noticeably larger than the stock brakes, so when I saw these that weren't, I just started thinking. I don't want BBK, just nice looking calipers...the ones that come with the Brembo's look sooo much better than the stock calipers.

 

You should see the price of the brake job on those calipers, they won't seem so nice then
