cool! Is it just dry-cell? I assume this is strictly for weight savings?

I believe the stock battery weighs 35 lbs but could be a bit more. The replacement Optima weights 31.7 lbs.

I was thinking about these sometime awhile back...they are kinda expensive and the models I looked at only have a 1 year warranty, right?

i had sent an email to the sales team at Braille requesting some info for a good battery choice for the TLS and they had sent me an email saying that they recommend the B2015 and Aluminum Mount Kit for the car. They said this will provide the same 425CCA as stock and provide a much lighter front end weight, removing 17lbs.

Specs for the B2015 are:
Casing: Carbon Composite Shell & Polymer Plastic
Weight: 15 lbs
Length: 6.8
Width: 3.4
Height: 6.1
Pulse Cranking Amps: 1067
Cranking Amps: 574
Cold Cranking Amps: 425
Amp Hour Rating: 21

So it is not as powerful as the B3121 but it puts out the same amount of power as the stock one; just lighter.

yea see the thing is I looked at the cca and decided to go with the highest one because it was not pretty when I got stranded this past winter...

I think it was well worth it... the frp tie down was light as fuck just under 1lbs... so 22lbs for a battery and mount kit... you have to factor in the stock j hooks, the 2 rubber covers and the battery tiedown into the weight...

ps. I did mount it sideways because I want it to sit as low away from the heat as possible and as close to the vent as possible...

the little thing does perform wonders... oh and finally I don't have to hear my intake hitting the battery while idle lol

^^^ i'm sure the winters here in cali are nothing compared to the ones in ny...so it was a wise move on your part...and its about 10 lbs lighter than stock.

Curious...

I'm wondering how long these'll last.

and how well they'll perform when it's 17 below. Not so much the CCA, but HOW LONG they can put out those CCA's.

Neat though, and a much cleaner solution than the rear battery relo...

The closest for me was about 8 below. It cranked up slower, but still turned on just fine. I find the B3121 to be very reliable all year round.

Sure, I'd expect that the first year... My question is about longevity. Do these last longer than a year...?

I'll know that answer with time, but if it helps, it cranks up just as strong as day one. The reserve time is still over 2 hrs when I listen to my radio medium level with the car off.. Not bad for such a tiny battery!

Looks good Still! What size brackets did you use for the tie downs? On the website, I saw an 8" and 10" for the 21 lb.

the 8" allows both vertical and horizontal

jegs.com only has the 6" or the 10"... so I went with the 6" since I planned on mounting it sideways anyway

So, I have led's and halos and two 12's in my trunk... It would not be a wise decision to go this route, right?

What is the foil around the CAI? The battery looks preposterous for its abilities.

yea i want to insolate my intake aswell. Its on my "to do list" I found out that the TL suffers a lot in performance heat so the cooler u keep it under the hood the more consistent power u have.

the gold foil wrap... belongs to accuratein... he calls it "engine bling"... I did it as the cost effective sure way to create heat reflection from the motor...

I wrapped the intake 3/4 of the way down, and when I pop my hood, I get comments such as looks like a space ship thing, satelite or astranaut heat reflective suit lol

even got christmas gift wrap paper yesterday hahahahah

My battery took a dive today after 37k miles on the car. Got a Braille B2015 from a local shop. I did not get the mount kit so I had to do a makeshift tie down with the stock parts. It works for now but will def get the mount kit later. I noticed that the car pulls faster and stronger than before. I don't know if it's because the old battery was almost dead or all the weight saved contributed..or both

Look at all the space around the battery, so much room!

hahahaha, yea dude that battery is even smaller than mine, definitely springs for the mount, there are a few you could rock.... I went with the one posted above because it is the lightest

ps. how come you didnt relocate the intake temp sensor on your intake?

Sweet. Another mod I plan to do. Let us know if you have any problems over time.

BTW, I just noticed you left a comment on my integra cardomain page like 5 years ago LOL
