Borla Mufflers anyone?
Today I had my mid-muffler removed and replaced with a straight pipe. I am fairly happy with the sound, however I am considering replacing the OEM rear mufflers with stainless steel Borla mufflers.
Does anyone else have Borla, or simmilar mufflers on their 3rd gen TL with stock piping?
Any help would be huge.

Here is what I can tell you about Borla...
I installed a Borla kit on my '95 T-Bird back in 1996. To this day, you can take steel wool to the T-304 Stainless Steel and it comes right back to NEW. The sound is great, but hey it's a V-8.
I HIGHLY recommend Borla products.

so just replace the OEM mufflers with borla's and use the stock tips? i also have a stage 3 (dynomax res and mid muffler delete) and wanted to get rid of those restrictive stock mufflers

One on the right for me
^ - Its been a while since I've used a borla product. I'm assuming you are looking at their website - is there any indication on estimated decibel levels? Or, are the dimensions of the mufflers significantly different?

..it sounds very similiar to the comptech and "supposedly frees up some power" but its user friendly to my pockets as there not as expensive.. i just want to get rid of those stock OEM mufflers since 1. the coating is peeling off and from behind the car it looks stupid and 2. there restrictive and dont give off any sound.. how do u think it would sound with a stage 3? i have the dynomax res and pre-muff removed and wanted to put on borla's with the stock tips..any suggestions?..and also dont know which borla's as they have a big selection..?

i run a full 2.5" catback. i'm running 2 borla xr-1 racing bullet mufflers as resonators, a magnaflow y-pipe, and 2 borla turbo mufflers. it sounds awesome, i love it, but it does drone a bit. i dont care because the acura is my second car and i use my truck for commuting.
as long as you are running smaller piping, the sound levels should be fine, if i had went 2.25" for the mufflers, it probably would have no drone at all. if you can fit the turbo XL mufflers under there, that will def eliminate any drone at all, but there was no room under my CL for them to attach to the y-pipe.
