Best exhaust solution w/o cat-back!?

Looking for best exhaust solution to improve sounds on my 07 TL-S without installing a cat-back system. That will come later but for the time being something cheaper...

Heard of test pipes, j-pipes, race pipes, chopping resonators, etc etc etc...

Anyone realize good sound gains without a cat-back? I'd love a power increase but main focus is sound for now.

Thanks

hmmm, sound is up to the individual.....it seems that you want more sound?? You can start by taking out the mid muffler, then go from there.

If you're in just for sound, bite the bullet and do cat-back. Guaranteed to make more noise.

Or do what I did and delete all 3 mufflers and leave the resonator it sounded really good, and no rasp to speak of.

Jpipe will gain hp but not much in it for sound improvements. if your in it for just sound do the stage exhaust mods. Alot like the Stage 3. IMO it sounds the best. I currently have stage 1 and its not much more noticeable over stock. but always start with the mid muff delete and go from there.

The only thing stopping me is whether or not I want to get a jpipe or not. idk how all 3 muff delete would sound with a XLR8 V2 jpipe. im sure it would be loud. did you have any drone. sorry to bring this up again if answered in another thread.

I put a DC Sports intake on and removed the resonator and mine has a subtle noise but no drone and its not horribly annoying. Sounds very aggressive actually.

Also worth noting, I will be doing a custom exhaust build pretty soon. Parts should be arriving in the next 7 days. Once I complete that, I will be sure to post a video of it so that you can judge for yourself.

There's none unless you are at a steady 2300 rpms (65mph)

What sounds good is a preference, go on Youtube and report back with your findings. Also what is your budget? $50 or $1500?
