Best aftermarket exhaust for '08 TL Type S

I know this has been discussed in the past, but I was wondering what the most best and most recent options for an aftermarket exhaust system. I am looking for more power, performance, and sound quality, but also not looking to spend more than $2000. I drive a 2008 Acura TL Type S with no modifications done to it yet. Also a newbie at modding. Thank you.

best is subjective to what you like....
because; all catback exhausts provide about the same level of horsepower....

so, a catback exhaust will be purely a personal purchased based upon looks and sound....

there are three major exhaust systems that look different, sound different, but provide the same amount of gains....

DEPOSIT: RV6 True Dual Exhaust for '04-'08 TL Type-S Quads Final Batch for 04-08 TL

XLR8 Exhaust Systems - Excelerate Performance - Japanese and European Performance Specialists!!

ATLP V2 Quad-tip Performance Exhaust System, 2004-08 Acura TL & TL-S, ES0001 - EndLess RPM

EndLessRPM 2004-2008 ACURA TL catback (Quads) - EndLess RPM

My on the matter - if you want the best gains / future-proofing, the ATLP-R or RV6 True Duals will be your best bet. Being 3 inch and 3.something inches combined respectively they will flow better and be a safe bet if you decide to dig into the engine to make it flow better.

I should add that if going with either, you should match them with the right Jpipes as well - the atlp-r v2 or the x pipe richie is making for this batch or rv6 true duals.

So, Justin, what's happening? Aaah now, are you going to go ahead and have those TPS reports for us this afternoon?

Definitely look into our XLR8 Catback exhaust system. It is made from T304 Stainless Steel and manufactured here in the U.S. It is mandrel bent for precise fitment and is designed with longevity and performance in mind.

You could pair it with our V2 J-Pipe for one awesome sounding exhaust system!!

they all do.

with a cat back exhaust, you're messing with every thing BEYOND the cat and back.
hence why its called a cat back.

so, if you're not messing with any cats, you'll pass emissions with any of those 4 linked above

Basically, YOU NEED TO CHOOSE based off of appearance, sound, availability, budget, and last but not least, the vendor

New question

I have an XLR8 Quad tip exhaust for my TL, but now I'm looking for the right cold air intake. I'm still looking for the power gain and sound.

OP try reading some the threads on the performance section. Many have gone down your path and ask the same question. I could tell you that getting a CAI right now will not benefit you at all, but since you still want one; build one yourself, buy from our vendors, or do the resonator delete. Its all the same as of this point. FYI go with a dry filter over an oil base.

Definitely stick with our XLR8 AEM intake! It's got great fitment and will provide the best gains (around 5-10 horsepower). It won't throw you back in your seat but it's definitely a great add on when combined with the J-Pipe/Exhaust.

Don't forget the minimum pieces of flare you should have is 15. You do want to express yourself right??

I just bought the XLR8 dual catback, I've done a lol of research and this CBE sounds great and puts out more power then other competitors depending which Jpipe u go with. I got the j pipe that was proven it put out the most HP gains.

I just put my Quad tip catback in today and it sounds nasty. Next step is an AEM V2 CAI, then probably an ATLP V2 Jpipe, but that's not gonna be for a 2+ months from now. Need to save some money, been an expensive couple months. lol

Really? Huh, every 370 I've ever heard has had a low pitched rumble the TL couldn't hope to replicate regardless of exhaust. Make some sound clips dude

Then again, a number of people have said the XLR8 with jpipe and HFPC sounds GTR-like lol
