I want to convert my type s to manual, I cannot stand automatic anymore...is this possible without swapping the engine?

There is a thread on this topic. I think its call DIY 6spd swap or something like that. You have to search for it. Google it and add Acurazine to it or Acura TL or something relevant to what you are looking for.

If you cannot do the work yourself and you will need to pay to have it completed it will be way better to sell yours and buy a manual. Actually in any case it would be way better to buy the correct car.

Yeah I have to agree. If you are not doing the work then its best to just find a 6spd and trade yours in.

Much cheaper and easier to sell yours and get a 6MT. And odds are you can get more money for yours than you'd pay for the same mileage 6MT, especially if you buy it from a used car dealer. I picked up my 6MT '02 Maxima for nearly $2000 under book because the dealer thought it would be hard to sell a car with a manual transmission. In fact, when I called about it, he said "I have to tell you something about the car". I asked what and he said "its a manual transmission, are you okay with that?".

Don't swap, buy a 6MT.

Sell the car and buy a 6MT, as everyone else has suggested. I would never buy a car if I knew that the previous owner had swapped out the transmission for a manual. Too many unknowns.
