Exclamation attention racers

I have an 05 A/M Auto that Like most of us Acura Owners, love driving. BUT, I'm curiously looking to add some more horsepower to my car, to make it faster than the "average TL".

What would you recommend? And by approx, what Horsepower gain will each mod result in?

Please keep in mind that I live on my own and unfortunatley don't have a garage full of daddy's tools, so I'd be taking it in to a local shop to get the work done. Can anyone recommend a good Acura Mod Shop around Southern California?

Thanks for the advice fellow TL Owners.

How about the AEM CAI... instant (supposedly) 12-15hp... Its easy enough to do with a srewdriver and a socket set so you wont need alot of tools..

I agree (although I doubt the gains, too)...cheap, too. An exhaust can be done, but the gains are minimal. The downpipes Nitrotiger had made are good (21whp), but will be around $1k. If price isn't a concern, get the SC as bklynpanman said.

Your thread is "Attention Racers." Are you going to race your TL or just hop it up for the street? I see you live in LA. Can you take your TL to Willow Springs or other local track? I track my TL and routinely hang with Vettes with 400+ HP because the owner doesn't know how to drive. Improving your driving skills would be my first upgrade...along with performance tires and suspension like A-Spec or Eibach springs/Koni yellows.

Do you run FATT @ Summit Point? Have you done any days on the new Shennendoah circuit? I'm a little concerned throwing my $30,000 car around a race track; although, I don't mind beating my $10,000 motorcycle like a baby seal when it's furr coat time!

Must be late, I found that pretty funny.

To the original poster: I would work on the suspension first. Then move to the engine. But that's me.

From a guy who has owned two SC cars in the past, I personally think spending the 5k for a SC that provides you 65hp is a huge waste of money. My opinion.

Now spending 5k for a SC that provides 200-400 more HP is definately worth it.
