ATLP stuck in the middle of XLR8

I installed the ATLP/HFC this weekend and man does the butt dyno like the results... Thx Alexsu"

Seems to shift much better from 2nd to 3rd....

And for the boys with the Res/nonres xlr8 catbac I'd recommend the ATLP/HFC for its DRONE REDUCING ability alone, regardless of the few ponies you gain..

Drone is still there... but maybe 15-20% less. I need a set of RV6 v2 deletes and I'll have a true custom set up.

Ehh, not really custom since it's not a "one of a kind" exhaust system, but should still have some nice power to it!

Notice the yellow face at the end of my statement LMAO Yeah she's pieced together, but still beats the crap out of the stock setup

so your saying the atlp HFC reduces drone on the xlr8 exhaust?

i have a non resonated xlr8 exhaust ...i dont mind the drone at all i actually love it but wudnt hurt to tone it down a little just so the parents are satisfied lol

how much gain did u notice from the HFC

Maybe " I Hate Cars" can chime in regarding the exhaust

My sons 92 sc300's 2jz needs a good toning down LOL

Low Budget - If you still have drone currently, you will have at least twice the drone with the PCDs, just so you are aware. I highly recommend the PCDs due to their great power increase, but you WILL get drone and the exhaust will be much louder.

I had the OBX exhaust, which was VERY quiet before the deletes. 1st startup with the deletes was MUCH, MUCH louder. You may have to add another resonator in there to quiet it down. I'm not trying to stray you away from the deletes cuz they are awesome! And you should get 'em! Just a friendly warning!

Or, you could wait it out for the P2R resonated PCDs. Idk when they will be completed though. I wish they gave us an update...

Well shit Sonnick.... You talked me into it.... The thought of the deletes is driving me crazy... Do you think it will help 4th gear any???

I have my EYE on some rv6 v-1 deletes for a good price..... so if its to loud, raspy it won't be to bad on the wallet if I don't like it.

I can live with the drone, I just don't want to sound like a 85 crx with an ebay fart can on it

It will be raspy for sure. The XLR8 is a more aggressive catback than the OBX and mine is raspy around 3500RPM. Yet it's raspy for < 500RPM, which is good. I wouldn't go as far as saying it'll sound like an '85 CRX, but you will have a decent amount of rasp 100%. If you have the non-resonated XLR8 then be prepared to be very raspy, like the Greddy paired with the PCDs. If resonated, slightly less. Either way, you could always get a 'B' pipe mocked up (the pipe between the HFC and Y split) and put a large resonator in there. That should get rid of most of the rasp.

There is a J36 Accord on VeeSixPee that has Magnaflow part #12762 as a "resonator" and 2 more Mag mufflers. It is quiet and 0 rasp even with the PCDs. Hence why I am going with the 12762 in my custom setup as well.

Do I think it'll help 4th gear? Yes, but it won't fix it. The only thing that will help 4th gear is boost, nitrous, or just a shorter gear all in itself. Maybe TL 5AT guys could swap the Accord V6 4th gear?? SatinSilverAccord said the Accords is something like 9% shorter, that's a lot!!

The V1s are known to crack so just be careful...or maybe just wait and save for the V2s or resonated P2Rs.

There are two outlets on that resonator/muffler. If you want to use that as resonator what do you do?
