Bent09, you are in Houston right? You coming out this weekned to D&B? I would really really like to see this and maybe take a ride to hear the cabin noise.

So you have like a '06 rear bumper with a TL-S rear lip? Sorry, I kinda jumped some posts. What do I need to do to my '06 for this to work (I already have factory A-Spec).

So I read back more...sorry...

Can someone clarify what needs to be trimmed on the '06 bumper to make the '07 TL-S rear lip fit? Should I just buy a 07 TL-S bumper cover too?

there is a short DIY write up on how to put the 07+ Aspec lip on the 04-06 bumper.. it requires dremmeling and cutting your bumper. Buying the entire 07+ TL-S rear bumper cover will eliminate that need, but will cost you about $300+ painting of the bumper.... so thats like an extra $500 cost... better off cutting it, or payign a body shop like $200 to make it fit perfectly.

I thought they make one? It looks silly without it on the 06.

I called an acura dealer and they said it would be in on Wed. Maybe it is the wrong part number?

If you fab one I would pay.

I will be there. This was my first attempt at body work and it was a pain. With that said I can take off a bumper and do another one in about 30 minutes.

I bought a painted 07 aspec, cut the stock rear. It is easier to show you.

Mike...
When are those ATLP J pipes coming together.

Perhaps you could set up that GB for previous customers and just ship them together with the next round of orders...?

Hey Kennedy, I'm aiming for those J-pipes to be finished at the same time. Hopefully within a month as well. But if the exhaust, or J-pipes finish first, I'd probably ship them out first in order to get the parts out to those who have been waiting for a while already. They will be shipped in different boxes anyway.

For the exhausts, they are starting the mandrel bending setup today.

The J-pipe, I'm setting up the dyno before I'd like to finalize production on it. No gain, no pipe...but I did feel a worthwhile difference that put a surprising grin on my face. We'll see how it reflects onto the dyno results.

Did you have to custom paint that aspec lip or were you able to get it painted already? Also are you using an 04~06 bumper or the 07 Type-S?

The lip came painted and was a spot on match.

I am using a 04-06 bumper and cut it. The only problem is that there is not a insert for the grill (which I just learned). So that gap will remain until you fab something to fill it in.

Nope

The honey comb grill snaps into an 07 tls oem bumper. Then the aspec sits on top of the bumper so the grill you see through the aspec hole is on the oem bumber.

So those of us who have cut the bumper have to fab something.

Forgive me if this has been answered before, will the quad tips fit in the RJ bumper? Or do I have to wait for the other tips from you?

You should try and fit a type s lip on the rj bumper, would that work?

Hey Mike...
Just checking in on that last batch of quad exhausts.

It's been 3 weeks. Hoping I'll get a ship date next weekend...
Sorry to be impatient, just been waiting since Christmas for it.

TL-S lip is going on this weekend, so I'm ready!

To me it doesn't look like the Type-S lip would be compatible with the RJ rear bumper. Its too bad though. I love the quad tips.

I doubt that would work. But you can just trim a little on either side of the RJ kit. I think that would MAY work...someone want to give it a try? =)

Hey Mike...
Just checking in on that last batch of quad exhausts.
I'll see how we're doing this Monday for ya. I'm working on a new logo..hopefully the laser etching will be on time as well.

Thanks Mike.
I'll certainly hold out for the new laser etching if it means waiting a few more days.

I just wanted to let you know I was now "ready":

Hand cut polished aluminum mesh.

Yep. Used some mirror mastic... It's a thick epoxy kinda shit.
Just taped it on, and laid a glue bead aroud the edge.

It matches my fron grilles... "The drapes now match the rug".

Still waiting, since Christmas. C'mon Mike, get those exhausts in a box please.

As Tom Petty crooned, "The waiting is the hardest part".

This week looks promising, I promise! Trust me, if I were able to do it all in my garage, you bet that I'd be working on this night and day just to get it done a day sooner.
