ATLP exhaust w/ resonator?

Hey guys!

Currently, I have an ATLP quad exhaust system with j-pipe and hi-flow cat installed on my 2005 TL. The cabin drone is starting to get to me so I'm thinking about installing a resonator to tone things down a bit. It's not so bad when it's just me, I can just drown out the drone with my music, but when there are passengers in the car, it's kind of harsh. Especially because I can't blast my music, plus I feel bad for them because the exhaust is so loud.

Has anyone with an ATLP non-resonated exhaust system installed a resonator afterwards? If so... What was the difference in drone/overall volume? I spoke to a local exhaust installation shop and they said it'll cut down the drone by about 25%. True/false? Any particular brands I should aim for?

I love the sound of the exhaust and I'm hoping the resonator won't interfere with it. I just want the cabin drone to be addressed.

Thanks!

Any luck? I am looking into an ATLP exhaust for my 3G TL, does any one have a video clip of an atop installed on a TL with a resonator?

By the way my res v2 quads has no drone but I assume my res lowers the volume on the beautiful sound. Mine is a magnaflow.from heeltoe

I got the Magnaflow 10436 welded on last week. I got it TIG welded by a local guy I know, he did a great job.

I have been driving around for the last 4 days and definitely notice a difference. All the drone under 2.5k RPM is gone. Highway drone is gone. The outside noise is unchanged. The only drone that comes in is a very mild drone from 2.5 - 3k RPM, but in comparison to before, its very bearable so all in all, im satisfied.

thanks for all the feedback, guys! now all i have to do is decided whether or not to get this done. what if i regret it later on?? like... "damn! now it's TOO quiet... i should've left it the way it was."

another concern i have is about ground clearance. something scrapes on the taller speed bumps... i'm guessing it could be the heat shield around the hi-flow cat? will the resonator give me less clearance than the heat shield? if that's the case then it would pose a problem lol... i'd be scraping on all speed bumps lol.

I had the same problem, but now that I'm driving more people around in my car, I realized that using the music to drown out the drone wasn't going to work anymore. I installed the vibrant resonator thinking "this is is, its going to kill the beautiful sound". I was wrong, the vibrant resonator not only killed the drone inside my car, it kept the beautiful tone outside. I find myself driving with the windows down when I want to hear my exhaust and windows up when I want silence. This is definitely the best resonator to go with if you want to reduce drone and keep the sound.
