ATLP Exhaust, J-Pipe?
ATLP Exhaust, J-Pipe?
Hey guys, I'm new to this forum, I joined it because I finally have some money, and am ready to throw some money into my exhaust to make it sound awesome. That being said, from the browsing I have done, this ATLP sounds like the way to go. However, I'm curious about the $$$. What does the exhaust cost, are J-Pipes necessary, and is installation another cost (I am NOT mechanically sound).
I drive an 05 Acura TL. Details would be great!

You can't go wrong with a ATLP, XLR8, or RV6 exhausts.
Being base you can't go quad tips unless you do the type-s aspec lip and cut your bumper. So that limits which ones you can buy.
IMHO, the ATLP base tips are bleh. I like the XLR8 base exhaust more. It's cheaper too.
Yes jpipes are necessary. If you buy a jpipe go with the RV6 v3. Buying a cutback won't replace that.
Also, exhausts and jpipes are very easy to install. Honestly, anyone can do it. Save the cash and enjoy the learning experience and do it yourself.

Aftermarket J-pipes are NOT necessary if all you're looking for is a good sound. The main benefits of the J-pipe and pcd/hfpc are horsepower and torque; the catback will have the greatest effect on the sound of your exhaust note.
The cat-back exhaust bolts right up to your third catalytic converter. If you just want sound, I suggest getting a just a catback first. No other parts needed for install.
As mentioned earlier, a quad exhaust will not fit the base bumper. If you're in so cal, Heeltoe might be able to sell it to you and install it for you at a bundle price maybeeeeee.

Eh, Im in New York, so that hurts my chances at a ATLP. The XLR8 sounds real nice, and Ill have to get those Pipes too. And saying I can do it myself is interesting, I hope your right. What do you think it will cost, and where can I buy em?

ATLP Quad tips with no resonator and an RV6 Long tube J-Pipe. Sounds and looks AWESOME !!!! If you have a base TL, you can get the Type-S rear lip and cut the base TL bumper to fit. Sweet. Awesome sound !!!
