so you would cut the ATLP exhaust up in order to install the stock resonator?

if I didn't cut the exhaust to intall the stock resonator does the atlp have a built in resonator or does I have a non resonated sound? But I would have to uses the stock jpipe and cat converter right...purchasing a new jpipe is optional? I'm not sure exactly wat it does anyways. if I just got the atlp and nothing else that's enough to take it to a shop and have it installed right?

here is the stock layout

the ATLP does not have a resonator.

you would have to use the stock j-pipe and cat if you didnt upgrade.

it is optional.

you can install just the catback exhaust without purchasing anything else, the only issue is the stock components have a smaller diameter so you will have decreased air flow before it gets to the catback.

if you go to the ATLP site you can see thedifference between the two pipes. the stock is a lot more restrictive and the ATLP has the added bonus of having the same length pipes coming out of each primary cat. if you are doing the exhaust it would probably be nice to spend a little extra $ and upgrade the cat and j-pipe.

is it bad if there is less airflow, it passes emissions? also since there is no resonator is it a high pitch sound ? I've heard it being low toned how is that possible without resonator?and is it bad to have no resonator, emissions and is it legal to have no resonator and less air flow

will the gains be less with the stock pipes? less than a 10 hp gain without jpipe or cat converter?

A resonator isn't the only thing that reduces high pitched tones. If the exhaust is properly tuned for sound, it should be able to create the desired pitch without any harsh irregularities. We can add a resonator as an added cost, which will overall quiet down the note by a pitch.

The resonator doesn't affect emissions, the catalytic converter does. We have a Hi-flow metallic converter (#200 Cell) that will give you the best of both worlds, emission and performance wise.

You will still get the ATLP sound with out the J-Pipe.

The J-Pipe with the exhaust will get you more gains, but you will still get about 9-10whp with only the exhaust.

well, atlp is acuratlparts.com, but i think heeltoe.com is selling them too. they are making a version for the base TL so i think that if they are no longer making them that is why. labor should not be too much and you can take it to any exhaust place to have it installed. i had my j-pipe and race pipe installed for like $25, so i wouldnt expect the full exhaust to be too much...
