Is anyone running High Flow Pre-Cats?

Ok, at the risk of getting verbally wrecked, as the title asks, is anyone running High Flow Pre-Cats? I've been reading for days about everyone with PCD's but can't find anyone who is actually got the HFPCs. After reading and researching as much as my eyes can take and hearing about smell and rasp and resonators and WTF ever else you have to do with the PCD's... me thinks me's going with Richie's HFPCs. It would be niiiice to hear from someone who's had them for a while. Anyone... Buehler?

I know....I'm an eeeediot! I almost PM'd you to ask if you wanted to sell our PCDs to me. But after reading more about the HFPCs, I found a thread with a Dyno graph of PCD vs HFPC and like you said there was not much difference Anyway I figured I'd how many guys were actually running the High Flows just to get some feedback.
OUCH! The Wrath of mutha fukn J in Space Stings when it's directed at you!

Well, work is done and it's nighty night time for me. I will close by saying Justn..although you did verbally wreck me...you my good man are poet with words. LOL at ^ and I laughed my B's off at a post where you told a kid to put whistles and duckies in line instead of resonators. So keep up the good work and have patience, us noobs will get there.

No Problem. Fwiw HFPC's seem to be the way to go. As far as gains compared to the PCDs, they are supposedly 2-4 hp less and no smell or Raspy Rasp, so no big loss. IDK why more people aren't running them, it seems to be a better all around mod.
As far as Justn, I know he's just kiddin. I pm'd the poor bastad so many times I can't believe he didn't send a bomb through my screen, LOL! Me and him are like old buds now.

I think more people aren't running them because they only came out recently, the PCD's were developed way before. Plus, the $200 extra probably scares people towards the PCD.

Better question I have that probably can be searched???

How much difference is going from Type-S cats to HFPC's gonna get me? If its only 1-3 whp then I think staying with S cats would be just as well.
TL 800 cell TL-S 600 cell HFPC's 200 cell

base TL cats are a 900 cell count
tl-s = 600 cell
high flow cats are a 200 cell count.

no one can answer your question specifically because no one has dyno'd.
there needs to be a base run, and then the high flow cats to properly determine how much HP is gained.
unless some one pays for multiple dyno runs and is willing to do a base run, you will not get the answer you are looking for.

also, one can assume that going from a 600 cell to a 200 cell cat would free up HP.
just sayin.

IMO, stay with what you got and get a Jpipe if you don't already have one. From there, explore the world of bolt-ons and go nutz

After doing some online research, I have found some controversy as to whether the Magnaflow 59956 cat that Richie uses is 200 or 300 cell, but regardless, even if they're 300, then in theory, a base TL going from the stock 900 cell to 300 cell should see the same improvement in flow as a Type-S going from the stock 600 cell to a straight delete. The Type-S will likely not see a ton of gains going to the HFC's as they already come stock with "intermediate" flow cats.

Tried to order by phone from Richie (I'm scared of ordering anything on line and don't even have a paypal account). Any way I have to get with the program and get paypal, but Richies combo Jpipe+HFPCs $975.00 before tax.

not tooo bad i guess....I would do the deletes, but with all the massive amount of talk about rasp I dont think i will take the chance of making our 40k car sound like a 89 civic with a coffee can on the back lol

but then, you have the option to quiet it down with resonators.

I will quiet it down with a resonator.

So this will probly be the last thing I say about this subject and it's strictly my OPINION. For those of on the fence. You can go with PCDs but most likely add a res. to kill the rasp. There will STILL be the issue of the smell I'm guessing, what to do for that IDK, ANOTHER Res? So by the time your done IMO, you might as well get the High Flow Pre's and just be done wit it. No Rasp, No Smell. For the 1-3 hp diff. Why the Fuk not? Unless of course a couple hunnit $$$ matters to ya!
