I know. But, if you didn't know already, EVERY SINGLE AFTERMARKET CLUTCH for 3G TL's have TRAGICALLY failed. I do mean EVERY SINGLE ONE (CM, Spec, etc.). That's why I said what I said. I just don't want to pay for something that's going to fail.
Sadly, the OEM Acura clutch for the TL is the best clutch for it, and for every clutch thread on this board, that's what I've stated. Until proven otherwise, I will continue to recommend staying OEM for our clutch.
It's weird that a company as big as ACT isn't willing to make and have people test a couple prototypes? It's free publicity.
I'm HIGHLY skeptical that they'll make a clutch for our cars that'll last more than a month. NO ONE has been able to do so. NO ONE.

I'm interested in any clutch that will increase holding power and last as long as the stock set up. They need to be aware of the issues with other companies are having with our cars; i.e. ring gear, lighten FW, longevity,....not sure of any others. Also would like to see a set up with ceramic disc, does not increase the feel much.

There's one thing for the clutch to hold up "after its been engaged", and its another thing to hold "at quick shifts"
see, my clutch (stage 3+ spec) holds fine, WHILE ENGAGED..meaning after its been engaged and its in gear, i can throw any throttle at it in any gear, and it will hold all the way to redline, but it will not hold and it will slip if i do quick shifts, and once it slips, it will just blow right through to redline.
Im not even talking about FULL THROTTLE SHIFTING, just simply quick shifting...the littlest amount of initial slip, will cause it to get right by all the way up.
So what we really need is...a heavy goddamn PRESSURE PLATE, not self adjusting, none of that fancy stuff, just a pure hard dash chattering pressure plate....clutch disk isn't the end of the world to make, and there can be many combos with different surfaces.
A new light weight flywheel would be nice, especially since it would delete the dual-mass crap, but in all honesty, I just wanna put my goddamn power down. I just want a heavy PP and a carbon-ceramic disc!

i already talked to about three different sales and R&D guys at ACT. they said the same thing to me and said they would use my car for the initial test kit, and never heard back from them and when i called to see what the deal was they dropped the whole idea and said the car was not worth time to invest into.

look man...the car's been out for 6 years...if they wanted, they could've made it...its not something people will just upgrade to upgrade....its a wear item, and im sure more than enough people would be willing to invest towards a better clutch, once the stock wears out, rather then replace it with the same bullshit.
So they can go fuck themselves
