It's possible, theres at least TWO that have posted on Acurazine that have broken 14's NA... No need for a supercharger to break into the 13's... Of the two, one of them hit 13.7 with a video to back it up... the other 13.9

According to the time/weight whp
calculator at dragtimes.com I'd need
350ish whp to break into the 12s. That's
figuring my 7th gen AV6 6MT at 3500lbs.
This should be easily achievable w/ a mild
power adder (125 wet shot) and a built
engine, w/ upgraded motor mounts,
clutch and axles.

There's a 13.0 second 7th gen V6 Accord running N20.

That's assuming you don't have the usual FWD 2.3 60' time. It will probably take more than 350hp.

Like I said....without a SC (or inferred, NOS) your not getting 350-ish out of a TL

Not to threadjack, but do you have one of the TT V12 Mecedes? A good frend of mine always seems to have a CL600 or 65 in his driveway. Even had a Brabus T-12 that made 704hp for 6 months. Very fun car, especially with the traction control having to intervene from a 60mph roll.

Are you auto or stick, if you're auto make sure you trying SS and autoshifting and see if there is a difference. I expect there to be a slight difference at least a tenth of a second. Think about it holding out the gear for 300~400 more rpm (auto shifts at 6500 when you can shift at 6800~7000) will make a bit of a difference.

I am auto and i race this car like prolly no other 3rd gens out there, you'd be surprised... haha... I know how to brake-torque pretty well so i should be good... I'm just tracking to see whether i'm driving my car correctly or not.. Hopefully my reactions are up to par, cuz i know i got the rest down(like when to shift) If u let the car automatically shift, my times will suffer in the 15's for sure.... I learned that if u launch in L, then shift up to SS after it automatically shifts to 2nd, it goes near redline, as opposed to launching in SS mode.. cuz when lauching with SS, the car automatically goes into 2nd gear after 1500RPM's.

It is also really weird how sometimes, the car shifts early to 2nd from first....

a bone stock 6 speed TL should run 13's on drag radials...that is if it hooks and turns a 1.9 60'

1.9s 60' is practically impossible, the clutch will slip if you try launching to hard, and the tranny won't handle that, not even sure the stock axles will either.

That's weird how it short shifts that much, I've never experienced that. It's weird though sometimes when I leave it in D and floor it from a slow roll, it drops down to first and hits redline and once it hit the rev limiter.

TY TY...
i lowered my fronts from 34 to 29PSi.. backs were 34PSi... You should throw the stock tl rims back on when u run man, those 19's will for sure kill you..

You're probably hurting your times and mph by lowering the pressure on radials. On a dragradial, the sidewalls are softer and you can effectively lower pressure and get a good footprint. On slicks, I run ~19psi because they have basically no sidewall stiffness and wrinkle and flatten out with low pressure. On your radials, you lower pressure and only the sides of the tire touch and the middle has very little grip. Not to mention you lose mph from the added rolling resistance.

actually you dont want to have too much tire pressure, you do want some kind of resistance, too much psi would result is less traction, too little and your draggin(resistance), i think 25-28 should be decent. You can definately see a diffrence in running 32-35psi, vs 25-28psi on regular street tires(like your stock michelins)

I'd keep your stock tires at the stock pressure, or MAYBE reduce it by 2 or 3 psi at most. We'd run about 21 psi in drag radials and as low as 9 on slicks. It can be a bit hairy on the big end with only 9 psi in a slick but it hooks better. Bypass the water box totally unless you are running on slicks. Only reason its there is to make it easier to get slicks spinning at first so they can heat up and get stickier. No benefit of that with radials, just do a quick dry spin to kick off any dirt or gravel. If you start to spin out of the hole, let up on the gas and then get right back on it. These cars don't have enough torque to grab traction and then loose it again. I'm gonna try and make it to the track Wed. We'll see what it can do bone stock before the CAI goes on. It made 220 whp on the local dynojet here.

220whp, i take it its a 3.2? im gonna try to make it to the track 1 more time before the end of the season, i figured out you gotta feather the clutch and ease the gas off the line....and punch it as soon as you start moving....with VSA off..., i think ill try 28psi...

After looking at timeslips it's obvous the TL despirately needs drag radials. 98mph should get you high 13s with even a 2.0 60'.

you should be able to hit better than a 14.65, my buddy ran 14.4 in a 89 Civic Si Hatch w/ a gsr, and i smoke him everytime on the street, so i wanna hit the track and get some real numbers. But then again i got a test pipe, and U.D. pulley...

the 19's may have dragged you down? You should be able to run a lot better than that.

Mr. Almeida, how was the weather there? at the time? humidity?DA? was track poorly prepped? and where did you launch at? your 60' time was like me.. 2.4..
