I never thought these words would come from me... Nitrous. These cars just don't respond to mods. You can spend $5K and if you're lucky you might take off a second in the 1/4 and that's doubtful. Spend $400 for a decent nitrous kit and add 100hp in a day. Of course a decent exhaust would compliment the nitrous.

Get rid of the spare tire: FREE
For about a grand + install costs, the E-Shift Pro Cats are your best bet for the most power increase + money savings due to better MPG

about $1100 shipped...& install them yourself, if you're capable of turning a wrench. Takes some sweat but it's pretty simple. just make sure you got a cheater bar.

E-Shift pro cats. I dont know much about those, except it makes the EPA happy. What part on the exhaust systems does it go on. Does it have to be used with stock exhaust. Can i get it now, and switch it with a new exhaust system later.

These do not interfere with the stock exaust and you can change to an after market at anytime with no worries. These are high flow catlitic converters that release some of the back pressure that kills the horsepower on the TL. 2 of them connect to the motor (since our headers are built in) and the third goes in the bottom of the car before the exaust starts.

I'm hoping that I caught a bad piece of info, but e-shift IS still making the pro-cats, right?

I'm not a big fan of nitrous but in this particular application, I feel like you're wasting money with anything less. I could not live with myself if I spent $400 on something that might give me 10hp. Nitrous is easy to hide. A 10lb bottle would probably fit in the spare tire well or directly behind the rear seat with a couple subs to hide it. A small hole in the bottom of the MAF pipe for the nozzles and with all the covers in the engine bay, no one would see it. If you do blow it up by chance, remove the nitrous and keep a stock MAF pipe on hand. Think about it, more power than the supercharged cars for 1/8 the price.

Nuespeed or Comptech
short-throw shifter, Corsp_rt
solid metal shift cable end
bushings, GM Synchromesh
Friction Modified tranny oil.

Cost: Couple hundred bucks.

Value: Priceless.

I concur.

Ponder this: With all the
bread your saving by going
with NO2 instead of the CT
blower kit, you could buy
an additional engine off Ebay
and do a 3.7L, 150-shot friendly
engine.

but remember n02 refillwill cost a bunch over time. Then you always worry about blowing the motor. The cost of a charger coupled with the though of knowing that the motor is safe and you have constant power along with the SC whine is much better in my opinion. No offense to anyone, but any idiot can throw a nos kit onto an enigne, esp teens who just want to go fast for cheap. But having an SC and the oter stuff will show that you are not a ricer, but a person who knows cars a bit and is somewhat classy and mature. just my opinion on the subject.

I agree with most of your points. But there comes a time when you can't justify spending $6K for .5 second in the 1/4. I'm a turbo guy and always will be. I used nitrous for a couple months to help spool my big turbo/stock motor combo until I could afford a higher stall convertor.

Keep in mind running a blower on an 11:1 motor on pump gas is not the smartest or safest thing either.

Hmm.

I knew I crossed the line
when I powder coated my
calipers red. You finally
confirmed my suspicion
about myself... with my
full boat NO2 setup, clutch
and (hopefiully soon) axles
I nominate myself for the
proprieter of rice.

Seriously though, my modding
policy goes, I'm not interested
in the product if it don't make
the car faster. And besides, I'd
rather be thought of as a
dangerous rebel than classy
and mature.

btw,

classy and mature - female
'friends' boring you to death
with their boyfriend problems.

Dangerous rebel - trim city.

Chicks dig bad boys w/ fast cars.
They don't care what power adder
you have.

It's a (I guess) ricer credo that I own.

Well, what i meant by that was if all you are going to do is stick NOS in the car and expect it to run fast, like a HS kid, then its kind of ricer. But if you do other things such as cats, exhaust (that sounds good), a few other things like your racing axles, then you get out of the category of ricer. As for your second post, I doubt females car what you use to make your car fast, but hey, I think classy and mature is better than rebel, but thats me. Everyone is different. And i was not implying that you were a ricer of any sort so there was no need for the sarcasm.

No offense taken.

I hope you didn't take my
sarcasm personally, that's
just me.

It's all good, we're all
in the same boat, just
trying to make a car w/
virtually no aftermarket
support perform better.

Just the line about you being ricer seemed like sarcasm, but thats it. I agree: alot of the members are on this boat, the only mods that are available are limited and there is no support. I hope that the racing axles company makes it, and shows other companies that there is a market just waiting for mods to come out. There have been a few members here who ran out of mods....

As more (younger) peeps are
able to afford crashed and/or
second (or third) hand 7th gen
Accord and 3rd gen TLs the
aftermarket will expand. You'd
think it would have happened
by now, I think the fact that
our ECM's source code hasn't
been cracked yet is a big stop
sign for suppliers of really serious
mods. Just my two pennys.
