AEM V2 or J pipe

If you guys had to choose which would you do to make your car faster AEM V2 intake or a J pipe? If you say J pipe is the ATLP really worth $85 than the RV6 J pipe?

The Best J-Pipes are XLR8 and ATLPs. Now RV6 J-pipe is decent especially for the price, but not as good as the XLR8 and ATLP due to exhaust scavenging. XLR8 is the best in that department, and def. go with the jpipe first more HP

Go with j-pipe it will give you greater gains.

Best J-pipe is ATLP, RV6 comes at a distant third.

I would go with j-pipe route also, more hp def. and either one is good, but maybe the rv-6 new version should fit the bill. Good luck.

J-pipe.

For most hp, get the XLR8 J-pipe. Designed for max power, but might scrape if your suspension is lowered drastically. Your avatar looks like you are mucho dropped.

For being slammed-friendly (lowered suspension), get the ATLP Version 2 J-pipe. Be sure it is the Version 2, not the Version 1.

For a good $ value with decent hp gains, get the RV6 J-pipe. RV6 is slammed-friendly also.

Thanks for all the help guys! I have about a 1.5 finger gap, do you think the XLR8 J-pipe will scrape because it seems like a great product.

I felt somewhat of a difference from the V1. Got a little better throttle response on low-end and mid-range. I was lucky enough to buy mine used for half the price of a new one. So it was more than worth the money. I think you would be satisfied though.

emal Mike at hello@acuratlparts.com he will respond to you.

t0talacuratl I only have the stock intake not even the V1. Does the CAI V2 make a big difference vs stock?

I'm getting my AEM V2 cai soon. Looking forward to it, but the pipes will give you better performance I think. I am going to order the atlp j pipe since my car is lowered too much! But definitely get the j pipe first.

Best performance wise is XLR8. ATLP is close behind, but has better clearance for dropped cars. Just clarifying!

Seeing as how the XLR8 pipe was just a ripoff of the ATLP V1 design, I don't see how it could provide better flow...especially since there is an ATLP V2 already out (which I have) which has a drop-friendly design as well as slightly better flow than the V1.

But anyways, I have an ATLP and you have an XLR8, I doubt we'll both agree on which one is better, so let's just all agree that RV6 is third.

XLR8 has true equal length pipes flowing into smooth Y collector versus the Orignal ATLP one. To say its a rip-off is an insult to those who put in hard work and time into making it. The XLR8 uses the effects of exhaust scavenging (google it) to produce more power than any of the other current J-pipes out there, its not about flow and what it looks like, but physics at work with high and low pressures, pulses, etc!

But as your edit states, whoever owns one of the two will think it's better. I own neither, but can agree that the RV6 does come in third...

I just added a post to the linked thread below. It illustrates the advantage of the XLR8 jpipe. See my pics in Post #26 in the link below.

The j-pipe doesn't increase exhaust note very much at all.

ATLP V2 made my exhaust deeper and more noticeable at idle.

Also created some rasp, although I'm not sure whether it actually is rasp or a heatshield.
