Also, I live in Oregon where it rains quite a bit. Any input on whether I'll be ok in the wet weather?

THANKS
Its the same part # from AEM. Josh just made it easier for TL owners to find it on his site.

Only thing that held us back was that the engine was still a bit hot... Guess I was too excited & ran the car a bit hard on the way to LOONATIX14's garage. HA! OMGTL evin tried to siphon out some of the BURNING COOLANT FLUID from the hose that had to be replaced.... (Don't try that at home kids)

Ok, so my thoughts: I knew not to expect huge gains from any intake, so my main concern was to avoid the huge intake noise. I was against getting any intake for the sake of sounding too LOUD. I wanted something low & mean.

HUGE SUCCESS!!!!!............... how do I know u ask?

That same night I took my wife out to dinner (sat night)... No response, she didn't notice a thing. WIN#1

The next day we took a trip to visit her parents (1hour away, & she drove the hole way AND BACK) Quiet as stock all the way ther. She took her sister to buy dinner for the familly that night. NOT A WORD from either of them... WIN#3

Then while driving home on the FWY she had a stupid aggressive driver try to pass her (last minute) as his lane ended... BIG MISTAKE (my wife gets kinda anal at stupid drivers so she sped up) I think the sound alone scared HIM and HER!!!!! she was like "WTF was THAT!" WIN MF# 3-9!!

OK, OK I get it, CAI don'd ad super human horse power strength, but damn! that sound just mentally ads like 30 HP LOL!

Needless to say she accellerated fast enough to leave him with a nice dose of road rash. & SHE DIDNT MIND!

REVIEW:

LOUDNESS WHILE NORMAL DRIVING : 2/10

YOU CAN BARELY NOTICE IT IF YOU ARE TRYING

LOUDNESS WHILE HARD DRIVING : 8/10

UBER SEXY LOW GROWLING

POWER : 3/10
ITS ONLY A CAI, what do u expect

MY OVERAL TAKE : 9/10
Perfect for those who wanna maintain a factory/stock sound UNTILL YOU FLOOR IT! Only wish it wouldn't stand out as much in the engine bay.
Did you have to modify anything, or bang anything into place with a hammer? I've been reading previous owners who had a V2 & they've said they had to "bang it into place."

300 for an intake what a rip! 230 of those dollars are for the AEM sticker. The tubing and the filter can be acquired for a fraction of that

I did mine in about 1 1/2 hours and didnt have to hammer nothing(USED DIY VIDEO ON BUMPER REMOVAL & INSTALLING INTAKE) . I just removed my battery which at the same time resets the ecu so i didnt have the check engine light BUT did have to insert both my navi&radio codes. Beats having to hammer my baby!!! BUT end results wow love the sound at WOT(major difference) and seem to pick up lil faster. I paid $290 and well worth the MOD to me but to each its own.

Just make sure when doing it the car is cold so when replacing the coolant hose attached to the TB you dont get burned, did it with my boy at the house.

sigh, maybe its time to upgrade to this. I'm a little worried about the hissing noise though, is it louder or softer than the v1? I got an Injen CAI specifically because I didnt want that whistle during normal driving.

I would like to add that I found my throttle to be a lot "lighter" after my install---I did not need as much pedal to accelerate at the same rate. This has translated into some MPG for me. I drive mostly highway miles. The sound at WOT is cool, too. Um, sorry----UBER-COOL!

I especially like the "Intake Fart" when you turn off the engine!

Check the 3G Garage for the DIY Install video on the AEM intake---pictures and videos are worth a thousand words, but to answer your question there is a coolant line that goes into the throttle body that needs to be moved.

Also, for those that want pics, here is an old one of mine that I took when I installed last year:

Where exactly can I view the videos on the installing?... I'm planning on buying this cai asap

They changed the name to the 3G Service Center---look for the sticky post at the top of any main page in the 3G Section.

Install is pretty straight forward, and the "growl" in mean, BUT one of the first things that came to mind when I installed my V2 is I wish I had an exhaust.....lol. I've got some mean looks passing people WOT with my V2.... for the V2

I remember when I wanted to install a v2 badly into my car...
Perhaps I can make my dream true with couple paychecks later.

I have the V2 also. Couldn't agree more with you. Unless you want to hear some noise, you don't have to. Sounds great, not too loud!!
