The HP is not as noticable as the sound is. Im telling you, dont waste your time messing with a V2. Its a buncha bullshit.
We aren't steering people in the wrong direction, we like what we have so we are recommending it. He will make his own decision of course. But it's just another case of someone who doesn't own one, just speculating that it is this and that. I have had my car stock, V1 and V2 and all 3 are different. No it isn't just a tube and filter. If that was the case the Injen and AEM would be exactly the same but yet there are different characteristics.

And the V2 is not designed because of hydro-lock concerns. It is dual chambered for different reasons:

Call it marketing all you want but if the product delivers it's claims and it works. I agree in terms of cost of materials etc. it is overpriced. Still no Ebay filter will compare. Is it worth the difference from stock? Absolutely. Is it worth the upgrade V1?......OK that part is debatable IMO. As for me, I am happy. So I think so.

So either I have a huge imagination or my car is a lot faster because of some other fluke. I will go head to head with ANY stock TL. If I lose I will eat my shoe.

Since we are in the topic of AEM V2s, I have a n00b question. The V2 isn't listed on the AEM website... what exactly is the model number for the part? does it originally belong to a V6 Accord or such? (I'm trying to get one for my '04 TL, and my local vendor says they can't find a V2 for the '04 TL)

much thanks

I don't see it on their website either. Kinda weird. Like others here have said, it does fit. You might just have to "coax" it a little. Say, unless your vendor can get you a really good discount, why not buy a V2 from one of the vendors here, like XLR8 or Mr. HeelToe? Just my .

I haven't followed the V2s that much I but I believe it's for the 7th gen V6 Accord....
But I COULD be wrong.

Try PMing XLR8 or something.

^Not sure which generation. There's an intake on AEM's site that looks like a V2, but I think the brackets are in different locations.

From AEM's site
http://www.aemintakes.com/images/l/AEM-24-6016C.jpg

If you look at pictures of the V2, they're different.

It's listed for the Accord and engineered for that application by AEM (the gist of the OP's original post). You can find it by searching 2005 Honda Accord on AEM's website and look for the dual-chamber intake, they don't really refer to it that much as the "V2".

It CAN be installed on the TL though. So the whole debate really is whether it really SHOULD be used on the TL. And there are people on both sides of this fence. Make your own decision......But I'd recommend to experience the results before making up your mind.

Right, I guess thread got a little off topic.

Well, if it works on the TL, why not use it? I think there might be a clearance issue on the TL-S, but it should be fine on the base.

^ Read through the thread - what he means is the emissions ratings (CARB, if I am not mistaken) being not met if installed into the 3G TL. Clearance issues aside, it IS illegal in certain parts of America (and Canada for that matter) where there are strict emissions standards in place.

Well AEM lists on their website most (if not all) of their intakes as being CARB exempt, including ones designed for the TL.

Anyways, good luck with your future purchase with the V2 tc_terencec. Sounds like it's a good choice for both sound and a bit of a HP boost.
