AEM CAI pipe overlap?
Hey there gang, i rarely create new threads, mostly because i always find what im looking for by searching, but this one's got me on a pot hole. I just installed an AEM CAI along with the P2R spacer with the thermal gaskets and came across something i didnt expect, the AEM piping has a bigger diameter that can go over the TB's tip. Instead of cutting it, i just overlaped it about an inch.
I used this to my advantage so i could align the vibration mount in place. Everything is a snug fit, but perfectly tighten. Is this what everyone else did when istalling it with a spacer?
I really appreciate your input, and pardon if there was a subject already on this issue, i've been searching since yesterday to no avail..

i just reversed the Vibra mount.. instead of having the rubber bushing in between the fende and the CAI clamp-mount, in put the fender and clamp mount flush with each other, and the rubber bushing is now closest to the engine.. hard to explain, i'll have to take pics

I think i understand what you are saying, the fender and pipe clamp are touching, than you just tighten them up with the bushing like a bolt holding the clamp to the fender. I just want to know if there will be any future issues with the way i have it set up. Thanks for your input.
I did the same thing this weekend.
I made a small rubber bushing out of the left over hose for the breather and put it in between the fender and the CAI pipe. Then used a bolt and a couple of washers to bolt it down.

if you have an 07+ TL-S, the intake may rub against the chasis where it bends to go into the air filter. I simply wrapped some weather stripping around the chassis and intake pipe, to stop the vibration sound and damage to the intake... cost $4 @ autobarn

Im sorry guys, i wasnt really worried about the chasis and the intake tubbing rubbing, i was more concerned about the intake tubbing and the throttle body tip getting damaged since i have the intake pipe over the TBs tip about an inch.
