To support the other members, etc. on this board - where is the cheapest place that I can order this AEM? I've had them on my other Acura's and loved them. Also, does someone have a soundclip of just the intake, without any other mods?

Alright, I guess the end result is get an AEM intake. I am going back and forth between the CAI and the WAI that some people on the board have mentioned is a good mod. I just want the sound, I love the sound that an intake made on my previous cars...Preludes. Should I just get the AEM. I will be installing myself so I was worried about how hard the install was. Am i making a good decision? Also where is the cheapest to buy the AEM. On ebay, going for $189 plus $15 for shipping.

Don't debate whether if it is worth the money. Here is my two cents for those of you debating whether if you should buy one.
1) It sounds awesome, it roars when you rev high. I love that sound
2) It looks nice, it's a mod, anything is better than stock
3) get it with comptech catback exhaust and will sound even better

Where did you get that all installed? I just ordered the AEM for $190, I also want to get the RSB and the aspec suspension. I know I can get the suspension for $600, but would like to have them all installed at the same time.

Seems like everyone likes the AEM so much but do you all really think their is noticable gains in hp from this mod. Still no one has provided any dyno results yet. Plus anyone knows if their is a V2 in the making.
PLus what make you all buy the AEM over the INjen as it seems to have a pretty decent gains.

I think I am going to pick one up soon. Because we have to take the bumper off to install the AEM it must be a pain in the @#$$ when you have to clean the intake every 20000 miles or so????

This is a newbie question, but if I install the AEM CAI would I be able to pass smog tests? My friend spooked me on saying that cars with aftermarket intakes don't pass...

Can someone please answer this abt the smog test??!! Also how often do we have to clean the intake as it is a pain in the A** to do it!!

so hopefully they figure it out and release the sticker before our TL's start going in for smog (IN CALIFORNIA ONLY) or else there is going to be some presmog work to be done...I doubt K&N is going to release one anytime soon so I'm going to be involved in that OEM swap as well.

Aem Cai
After installing AEM's CAI on my 05 TL I noticed the Air Induction near the front drivers' side was kinda small so I decided to cut it open to allow more Air to get to the CAI? Was that a completely Bone Headed Idea? I had ran across another tread were someone else had done the same which gave me the idea, but now after it's done I am second guessing myself. Any thoughts on how this can effect the performance? I live in Arizona so I'm not that worried about Hydrolocking. Should I mold it back on or keep it the way it now is? I would say I cut away about 3" at the most. Thanks

Times have changed, AEM pricing keeps increasing since their product justifies the cost. Pricing is increasing from AEM come June 1 and many sites are beginning to reflect the price increase. Others on the net do not update their sites, so be careful when you purchase from them as they will then hit you up for more money or cancel your order.

Got my AEM for $217 shipped. Got the silver powercoated. Took about 1.5 hours for install, engine was hot so I went slow to avoid getting burned.
Great instructions, nice detail.
Driving is a blast, with that great sound above 4k rpm. Planning for a nice drive in the canyons later for a more indepth assessment.
Thanks for all the advice and opinions on the forum! RSB is the next project!

Anyone know of a good place to get the AEM intake installed in southern NH or northern MA? Im looking for some basic things I can do to increase the performance of my TL. Right now it's completely stock w/ 6MT.

I got my AEM CAI yesterday shipped out from city of industry. It came so fast I wasn't even prepare to install it yet. Anyways, inside the box, it cames with detail installation instruction for TL with steps by steps photo. Are those pretty sufficient for installing CAI myself? I probably gonna read up on the garage thread on installing CAI. Just want to get a comfort level.

so lets say I dont have the skills to install it and have someone else do it....how easy is it to clean the filter? I would assume you would basically need to be able to do almost all of the install anyways to even get at the filter? I am used to my short ram intake on my civic...super easy to clean.
To me hard part is removing bumper...or is this even done?

I used to take pride in knowing everything I did to my car, but now I'm just too busy (or that's what I tell myseld) - will probably just take it to a shop and have them put it in
