I’m in Washington state, I’ll pay for shipping if your down to donate it. It broke while I was fitting the Comptech SC. Kinda like I’m broke after buying that new kit..90%er style.
PCDs are straight pipes, but my HFPCs are chambered(true HFPC),
Car is running good now. I gutted the RV6 HFPC as I wait for my RV6 PCDs.Car isn’t running 9psi anymore so it’s not as fast as it was. Though it’s running healthy, I was getting worried.
I used a 3/8” electritioms 2x4 still and beedlenose pliers to get it all out.
What difference would the gutted HFPCs HPwise vs. the PCDs? The only downside I can imagine is air turbulence.
This is not exactly how F/I engines work, OP. Having a clogged exhaust that gives you indications of higher boost doesn't mean the car is faster. Your car should actually perform better after clearing the cat debris. Have you had a chance to check your boost pressure after gutting the pre-cats? it would be great to see your boost pressure with gutted HFPCs and compare it to PCDs to see if the chambers on the HFPC really do cause any significant turbulence that would restrict exhaust flow. Remember: exhaust mods that cause a DROP in boost pressure is a good thing when it comes to performance.
My boost is at 3.5-5psi now. Just as it should be.
I was so worried about my car with clogs. It was a big relief when the car functioned as it should post gutting. Dom and I have the car pretty dialed in at this point.
This morning I’m removing the A/C system. Though the compressor will stay on until the new kit is installed.
Installed a DW65c today. Was a direct drop in. Very straight forward, no homo essentially.
I also reinstalled all the rear components and trim. I tried to make it as clean as possible, still have a number of things to make it the way I’d like it in the rear.
So on he last few days I had a couple highway races with the supercharger. One was a 2003 era BMW M5 DINAN, though I caught up to him quick enough that it seemed like he was in a 2003 BMW 540 with an M5 rear bumper and aftermarket dual exhaust. After a few passes he gave up.
I raced a 2013-2015 Mustang from the light. After he caught back up he waved for me to lower my window, as our cars equalize he’s like what do you have in it? “Supercharger”, I replied. He points down to his car as we are still moving and yells, “it’s a four cylinder”! We laugh and I go to take a left and have to stop. A man with a red neck in an beat up truck and a 1980s refrigerator in the rear slows down and gives a big thumbs up.
Today, a gentleman from the marines and his wife roll up to me on the highway in a 2016 BMW 335, as we equalize we both hit the gas. I get 4 car lengths on him and he slows down.
The Comptech isn’t as bad as people originally explained it was. It sounds so monstrous and angry when you hit WOT.

Andys stage 3.5 Rotrex kit will be here next week. Should I install ito to my 5AT and play around with it, or just wait until I get the 6MT? If I install it on the 5AT I will then have to eventually uninstall the Rotrex kit and reinstall the Whinemaster after purchasing the 6MT.
Teach me about methanol injection systems. How long does a jug last for? Does the system constantly spray methanol when the throttle is pushed, or is it only under certain conditions, like WOT pulls?

On the AEM kit kit there are three sizes of nozzles. The AEM control module has settings controlled by psi. I will set mine to 2psi. On this kit it also has progressive spray atomization. So it doesn’t spray 100% of the duty cycle when I hit 2psi. rather it will start at 2psi and gradually increase the spray to 100% duty cycle of that particular spray nozzle size.
I installed the meth kit to cool my charge and increase octane, not to tune it up. Its insurence for the engines longevity.

I say play with it now on the 5AT, that way you'll be an expert at working through any fitment issues, not that there will be any; however, you know what I mean.
You are mechanically inclined/improvisational in your abilities, so why wait? Besides, along with the monster down below, wifey will get to ride in/see a monster on the highway, hehe.
Good call, though I will miss the whine of my snarling Comptech. I will boost to 10psi and see how it goes. Dom-GSR did a good job on my Comptech tune. We did the final map last week!
I will first start by installing the new fuel pump and cage, along with new -8an fuel line and -6an return line. The larger p2r fuel rails and Bosch 1300cc injectors will go in aswell. To first get he idle right, Dom will tune it on pump gas with the Comptech Supercharger, then we will tune it to E85 on the Comptech.
After we have a good base tune for what is essentially a 3.5-5psi boost tune on pump gas and E85, I will install the Rotrex C38-92 Supercharger and boost to 10 psi. If I go above 10psi, it will be necessary to install the Hondata MAP sensor to replace the current one.
I think I will be the only person to ever run a Comptech Supercharger on E85!
It should make more power than a 5AT Type-S running a Comptech MP62 on a High boost pulley.

You be the pioneering 'deep pockets baller!'
You'll also be the first, IIRC'ly, to be in the unique position to run, simultaneously, each kit on two different TL models when you get the 6MT. It will be interesting to hear your comments/impressions, on the performance aspects of each individual kit (at least on the 5AT), along with the tunes you mention above (CT-E vs Gerzy-Bear Rotex). That is if/when you actually find a suitable 6MT to purchase.
QUOTE=rockstar143;16277847]Curious, if you know you're going rotrex for bigger numbers...why spin your wheels (literally) on the comptech fine tuning?[/QUOTE]
im going for bigger number, sure. But I also love the difference in sounds and reaching the limitations of each setup. I love hearing the difference in sound, power characteristics and Et Cetera(from the Cinemax movie split).

Good Luck!
Thanks Zeta! I’m not a deep pockets baller, I only pretended to be. I just save money well.
I am so looking forward to getting the 6mt! Though it will be a bit of time, early next year.
Perhaps a current member would be willing to sell me theirs for the Acurazine buddy price?
So each thing will be on a different car? That makes sense, I thought you were building one up and then removing it for a rotrex.
Shiet, I'd be curious to see how much you like the whine of the "V".

Well, maybe a 'quasi-deep pockets baller', hehe. You have the expensive aspect of 'labor' covered pretty well by being an adventurous DIY'er, so those costs can be reclaimed/directed towards needed parts/tools to further your goals. Researching information and asking questions, although time consuming, is free here on the 'Zine, so that stretches the 'bang for your saved dollar' even further.

I was looking the other day at all the TL's, nationwide, on erepairables.com and thought it's very possible to find a minimally damaged, very low cost, Auto TL and 6mt and make yourself a 6MT? Ambitious/time consuming? Yes; butt, very doable if planned out and executed well. I'm just making noise, lol.

My next door neighbor has a V. He put the pedal down enough for me to hear it whine once. He told me it’s stock and he can do 0-60 in two seconds..
My goal with the Gerzy bear Rotrex is beat his car in a race. My neighbor on the right side of me has a 2015 ZL1. Maybe someday I’ll win against it. My lil TL is trying to muster up the strength.
I’m not building anything yet, just trying to get the 6mt type-s first. After reading KN_TLs thread I see we can take these engines/transmissions pretty far in stock form. Just have to know how to use them to last while still having high HP.

I have considered doing that. We just need to find the damaged 6mt.
I meant more about the sound of it than the actual acceleration. The V is a formidable opponent, no doubt...but other cars are very fast too.
PS, I didn't hear shit until I did the airaid intake with the big filter on it...before that you couldn't even hear the supercharger.
