Hi,
have anyone tried to swap a 8-speed DCT Transmission in an TL?
The most Acura DCT‘s are on i4 engines, but perhapes anyone have tried to fit them on a j35a engine.

Question #1: I figure to make such tranny work it would cost an easy $5,000; why the hell would someone bother?
Question #2: What car comes with the 8-Speed DCT?

But the 8 DCT is made to mount a K24 anyway...

What about the 7-spd dct from the RLX Sport Hybrid?

It's not that your idea is necessarily a bad one... It's just WAY too much work and, honestly, it would barley make a difference....

With this tranny, you'd have all kinda of electronics to modify and I bet the bolt pattern is still totally different...

If you did this swap, go all-out and swap the RLX engine and tranny into the car together... Good luck with the AWD though..

Please understand, it's just totally not worth it. Believe me... I really want to help you understand that.

Don't get me wrong, it would be totally cool though!

I have to disagree, this is a REALLY BAD IDEA. Why? It will cost many times the value of your car to put in such a transmission and make it work, and that assumes it can be made to work in a 3G TL, something of which I have my doubts.
