2005 TL Horsepower improvement suggestions?

Hi everyone, this is my first time on Acurazine.com, and I've recently became very interested in the acceleration of my stock TL. I've done some research on what can be done, and I'm really looking for somewhat inexpensive upgrades to add ~ 20 whp, but keeping under about 800$.
ANY SUGGESTIONS?
PLEASE COMMENT IF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE/EXPERIENCE REGARDING THESE MODS (the main ones i have looked at)

-AEM/Injen cold air intake, or short ram intake
-Full exhast systems (inexpensive but effective)
-Denso Iridium spark plugs?

thank you

thats easy.

get the rv6 v3 Jpipe and call it a day.
it nets around 15whp and is part of the exhaust system.

it was my first mod, I loved the gains. I'm getting greedy tho, I just installed Pre-cat-deletes, when I told my self I wouldnt do PCD's

For under 800, the best $$ HP ratio would be to go with the RV6 PCD V3 + RV6 long J-Pipe. The only disavantage of the PCD is the rasp, XLR8 are planing to sell some Resonated PCD witch should resolved that.

BTW you will never get 20Hp with a CAI, neither with a catback exhaust or better spark plugs.

what do you mean!?

the Rv6 V3 Jpipe is the latest and greatest jpipe.(which means it produces the most power)
it's a no brainer.

tell your dad, that your third cat has malfunctioned. it went bad.
Tell him, why replace it with an expensive OEM piece, when you can upgrade for less.
This is my motto when I mod my car, since money doesnt grow on trees.

I think it's pretty apparent that's not going to happen.

The High flow precats or HFPCs should offer a good compromise between performance, sound and emissions. I just got the converter cores today and will have them welded next week.

I know you just wanted us to comment on the mods you mentioned, but what about new tires? Those can go a LOOOOONG way to helping with the acceleration for your TL...

I bought the Continental ExtremeContact DWS back in January. If you're in areas hit by harsh winters and want all-season tires that can handle in the snow, look into the Continental ExtremeContact DWS.

Read all the reviews, dynos etc. and praise on the v3 j-pipe curious to see if there is a HFPCD and J-pipe combo. Really liked the way Morrisey's car sounded with the HFPCD's and V3-Jpipe but $595 for HFPCD's is tough. Making me think about PCD's and the 18 inch magnaflow resonator now.....

^what he said. was just about to ask Richie the same thing. the difference between the PCD/Jpipe combo and putting the HFPC's with the Jpipe is an additional $295... if it were more along the lines of a $150-$200 increase, i'd have it already. as is, i'm stuck on the fence because the PCD combo is such a great deal, but i know it's not what i want--(why?- because although everyone wants MAX performance, there's always a compromise to get there (in this example, slight rasp/drone, more noisy in general, slight gas smell in the cabin at times) vs. my ideal situation, which is i'm willing to get only 90% of 'max performance' if it means it's not raspy, slightly quieter, and no gas smell, and easier to pass emissions checks.) I think a combo deal with the HFPC's would capture the entire market of people who opt for the ATLP setup instead. What do you think, Richie?

Thanks for clarifying that! Good to know. Also very good to squash any misconceptions people have about issues with products, that don't actually exist.
