I just had straight pipes put on my Type-S and it made a huge difference. Love the new sound!

 

You still have the two rear mufflers, right?

 

Is this what you had done? I did and mine isn't that loud, I don't think.

 

Base tl and type s tl have a different sound when removing the res and mid muffler. And other thing is that the straight pipe they put in needs to be slightly larger for a nice sound. If the straight pipe is thinner it's gonna sound more like a scooter. Hope this helps.
