~2g's to blow

So I will have 2g's to blow in a few months. Im struggling with the decision of buying a new rifle or spending that money on mr type s. If I do decide to spend it on my car what mods do you guys suggest first?

I was thinking

Tein SS ~ 1080
New atlp J pipe whn it comes out I figure ~ 400
New Rv6 I think he said ceramic coated pre cat deletes I figure ~300
then the UR stock pulley ~200
maybe if I can squeeze a bit more money out AEM V2 CAI ~300

What u guys think?

You would do the spacers before the UR pulley? And im not really looking to put on a body kit though I must admit from the few pics ive seen I think I might like the a spec bumper though im not quite sure. I really want the tein ss so I can lower my s#$@.

tein ss - 4 hours
precats + j pipe - 1 hour
pulley - 1 hour
cai - 1 hour

depends on where you go and what their labor rate is. figure atleast 400

but honestly, you can put them all on yourself except the tein's. where do you live? maybe theres some local people that can help you

Yea thats why I really wanted to include the teins in my money spending craze. I noticed that the teins allow changable ride height. How far have some of you guys lowered your cars?

I would save at least half of it.. I'm a firm believer of putting away 10% of your pay for savings then another 10% into IRA / retirement savings / stocks / self directed 401K (LLC)..

Maybe cut your $2k into $750 or $1k for mods.. then ask yourself what you want.. performance / aesthetics / sounds / exhaust.. There are a lot of good thrifty mods that you could do.. besides the money you save may pay off future repairs - CV joints, shocks, head gasket, tranny

they dont hahaha, but we've all already made the mistake of modding!! Go to take flight lessons, or go sky diving, or go to vegas man... I'm two years older than you and that is what i recommend... if not, then coilovers, stage 3 exhaust, painted calipers and LEDs...

What year is your TL? What kind of mileage do you have? What are your goals? Performance or aesthetics?

I agree. Invest it instead of dropping it on a perpetually depreciating asset. With the market rebounding, I bet in a half a year you could get both. =)

Bad ass ride that sounds like ______ nada?

exhaust buddy..

cheap mods - remove mid muffler swap resonator with a Dynomax res.. race pipe.. maybe spend a little dough on an ATLP jpipe. This way you get some performance and a nice exhaust tone.

Save the rest...

Maybe Ill just get the raven black inspyre ron jon wheels and the tein ss. Im going to spend 2k on something Im going to med school so I'm not too worried about my fiscal future. Ill just add performance parts to it as I scrape up money along the way. I dont see the serious need to buy a slightly smaller version of a rifle I already have.

why spend so much on Tein SS when you can save a few hundred and get basics.

then you have like $400-$500 to spend on something else.

I wanted the tein ss because it gives me more control. They are hella expensive though but I do like to have the best shit. I told myself the last thing I would get would be rims but I fell in love with the RJs.

Nbp type s with raven black inspyres ftw. Shit it's in a whole nother ftw arena. It's fta (fight to annihalate) I prob spelled that wrong LOL.

ftw = for the win
fta = fast turn around / for the average

what I think you meant and well understood here..
FTMFW = For The Mutha Fu*king Win

Inspryes are nice.
Tein SS can't go wrong.
Post up when you finally decide.

If your in for performance, why bother with the drop at over 1k? That's lunacy! If you're already familiar with your cars performance, go for the J-pipe, intake (AEM V2), and exhaust, then lower it/add rims later. You'll pretty-up your car quicker later, but there's nothing that can replace horsepower. Make your car faster, and it pleases you every time you're behind the gas pedal....... imo
