What type of installations are you considering?
You may want to reach out to blkaspec, he has an answer for everything.

anything from say a j-pipe install to a aem v2 install. would be nice if he could hook up an a-spec kit
on a side note, does anybody know where i could get a type-s rear lip installed on a base TL?

Another Option
If you are having any warranty work done by the dealer, that would be a good time to see if one of the mechanics have interest in doing some work on the side. My CAI was installed for $25 by the dealer mechanic right after a new B pillar garnish that was covered under warranty. Just a thought.

They installed my Eibach's and they will install the XLR8 when it arrives. Go in and talk to Ben (owner) or Steve. They are really cool guys and their work is awesome. Plus they usually BBQ on Saturdays (they did last year). Let me know if you are going- I will show up too. They also have a "party" on the weekend nights and usually cruise around Woodward. They are awesome with WRX's.

Also, i am looking for houses out in your area and in Plymouth, so if you see any good deals let me know

There are quite a few houses around me for sale. I know one down the street was listed for $129K, and sold for $89K. That one was an identical house to mine. I am in the 5 Mile/Farmington, Levan area. There are a lot of 2G TL's in the area, 2 are down the street.

would a local dealer mechanic really install an aftermarket part? i could see that but i'm not so sure they would cut up my bumper to install the type-s rear rear lip spoiler

Let us know how things go with your new 06TL. Is this your first one?

Any of you interested in going to the Jay Hondafest in Cleveland on June 13th? I am leaving on Friday the 12th and staying till the 14th (wife has family there). How about setting something up on either the 20th ( I have to work till noon in Brighton) or the 27th?

I cannot speak for any dealer, but I find having a conversation with the Service Manager and asking for his blessing in advance of an aftermarket installation goes a long way. I got lucky when I had my CAI installed because the mechanic was not doing anything and he was smart enough to volunteer. Obviously I couldn't turn down the offer for $25.

The only Acura dealer I go to is Jeffrey Acura in Roseville. They did about $1400 worth of warranty work for me (that was questionable for warranty and they fought on another issue to get warranty to cover it).

That sounds like quite a drive from your place. Did you have an unpleasant experience with the closer Acura dealers?
