Question XM vs Sirius

Question:
I am not impressed lately with XM, not because of sound quality and channel selection, but the fact they do not have Howard Stern.

Is there a way to convert our existing XM in the our TLs to Sirius without changing the dash or anything?

In fairness to Michaelvg1, the subforum that used to be called "Bluetooth, Navi, Audio & Video" prior to the forum redesign now only says "Bluetooth and Navigation."

Yes it is, and you already posted this in BT/Navi, which is also audio and video and radar detectors.

Don't post the same topic twice... I'll merged these two and put into sub-forum section. Thanks.

I noticed that while I was writing the reply, and have already brought this up to the bosses. His original thread was moved to BT/Navi and then he posted it again here, so I closed it and gave an explanation. Hope we can clear up this confusion soon, especially for the new members.

your not impressed with XM because they dont have Howard Stern?

I am not impressed with Sirius because they dont have O&A and their hardware should have come out in the 80s.

I find the sound quality on Sirius to be superior to XM's and I like the Sirius programming better, too. Alas, I believe I'm stuck with XM in the TL as the only choice for satellite radio. I'm not going to kludge my Sirius receiver into the TL's system through a cassette adapter.

Here's my thoughts. . .

I did considerable research before deciding on SIRIUS for my old car.

I chose it based on that I like listening to Rock both new and classical and occassional rap.

Not having a choice on the XM in my new baby - I figured I'd be just as happy - maybe miss my favorite DJs a little - but overall - make the transisition fine.

Well. .. .

NOT.

XM SUCKS!

The technology IMO might be better - I have noticed that stations tune faster and that I have less signal fade/loss under overpasses and whatnot. . .

BUT XM SUCKS!

I could care less about the music not cutting out as much - if the programming is AWFUL!

I have found myself listening ONLY to the comedy channel and Kids station for my child. Even the kids station sucks compared to "Kids Stuff"

I LOVE my TL - absolutely love it - but the WORST thing by FAR about it is my XM radio.

<< Yuck - they BETTER offer it to me for $60 for the year - or I'll be yet another waisted OEM install! >>
