I'm a newbie.I recently bought an 05 Acura TL.

I'm setting up everything one by one.

Here i got one question - I got a free 3 month XM subscription since i bought a certified car.

But when i'm trying to activate that in xmradio.com it is asking me to buy some plan.
But at the same time it is saying that it'll charge that amount only at the end of my free trial period.

So if i buy that plan now and just bfore the end of trial period can i cancel that if i feel like not using the XM much?

Or is there a way to use that trial period even without buying the plan.

 

The dealership should have activated XM for you-- I think other buyers have just called XM by phone to get XM activated.

Congrats and welcome. Don't buy any plan yet. If the website won't let you activate the radio without doing so, activate it over the phone. Use your trial period and when it gets close to the end, they should send you a notification perhaps offering you a lower rate to keep it. At least, that's how it works for orginial owners.

I activated the XM by calling the XM Radio.
Initially it was not activated but later i found that we have to keep the XM radio on at Channel 1 for 30 minutes or so immediatly after we request for the activation.

Now everything is done n i'm enjoying the XM.
