XM Traffic

Anybody use XM traffic with their navigation? How well does it work? Will it route you around accidents?

honestly it's pretty useless at least in NYC area. Some major roads aren't showing traffic flow at all. I rely on Google maps for traffic more than I do on XM traffic.

Sucks in KC too. Although we don't have any real traffic to speak of.

^^^ I use it in Kansas City and like it. True, our traffic is not like NYC, but I'm happy with it.

Trying to get mine activated. So far it has been a pain receiving the refresh signal.

When I had it on it seemed like I got traffic notifications 10 min after it cleared. It always just seemed behind.

I live between 2 freeways near Los Angeles. I always checked traffic before I decided on my choice of freeways. Saved me hours of time if used correctly & your area is covered by the service.

I found it to be useless in the Boston area.

Useless in the Chicago area. It was never updated in a timely basis to do any good. I dropped the service.

GeezerB, I live in San Diego and often drive to SFV, but mostly in SD. I used to love my NAVI traffic coverage and was saved countless traffic snarls. But sometime after I upgraded my DVD about a year ago, I started experiencing delays in traffic coverage. Sometimes it comes on within a minute; other times over 20 minutes. I got to Orange Co. once before it came on. When I bought my TL in 2008, it came on very quickly. But its very irregular now. Acura says up to 10 minutes is normal. How long does it take for your traffic to come on? Thanks, m

The map usually populates within 5 minutes. I have since sold my TL so further updates are not possible.
