Smile XM Strategies

Just bought an 08 TL and am very happy. The XM and traffic service just shut down after 3 weeks. Was a previous XM subscriber years ago. I do want to have XM and traffic. Any thoughts on the best deals and/or strategies to get the best deal? Thanks in advance.

Read the thread at the top of the list about getting XM for $77 or less. After you've had the service a while (about six years for me), call to cancel because you realized it wasn't worth it now that you own an iPhone/iPod/etc. and get your music for free with it and a car kit. They won't let you cancel and they'll give you the service for free like they do with me.

Thanks bluenoise, but the thread refers to renewals. While I have had the service in the past (several years ago), I will be a new subscriber this time around. Any ideas for a new subscription?

That thread is actually the way to go... you need to let your subscription expire before using that method (or you did in the past, at least).

Anyway, just call up, read the script in the thread, and provide your radio code. They want to charge a royalty fee ($11), some have been able to talk their way out.

Worth a shot! Worst case scenario you've wasted a phone call

good luck
