Question XM to Sirius

Hello everyone. I'm interested in converting to Sirius because of Howard Stern. Has anyone done this? What do you have to do? How much does it cost?
Sirius is offering a $500 for life deal which would mean you would never have to pay again...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well.. that doesn't exactly answer my question, but why would you say that? What info do you have that would substantiate that claim?

Did Stern not announce some intention to go to XM yesterday and that he hasnt done "real" programming for over 8 years? Big announcement supposed to be happening on Friday at some lunch place I think? Amos and Andy were dogging him out yesterday about how much he has sold out and that he cant say no anymore....(the boyscout uniform pic for one?)

Amos and Andy have been amusing....

I think I read somewhere that the lifetime thing Sirius offers is only good up to 3 equipment transfers. That means that if you buy your first radio, decide to upgrade, then buy a new car with Sirius radio, you're stuck with that. If you ever buy another Sirius radio, your subscription is done. Plus, they charge you $75 for each transfer. If it really were lifetime with no strings attached, it would be pretty sweet.

I've been with Sirius since they first started offering service, and I have 3 subs with them. So far I can't say I'm liking XM in my new TL

luniz97, why do you say they will be out of business? What evidence leads you to that? Let me guess.... you have XM and you want to make yourself feel good so you'll bash the other guy with non-truths. Having two carriers is good for everybody.

The question doesn't ask if sirius or xm is better, he wants to know how to convert.

You can't really convert and make it an integrated system into the TL's radio like the XM is. You can, however, add a sirius rcvr in your car - even a portable one so you can take it into your house/office to listen to. You can use an fm modulator to connect it to the TL's stock radio, then you would tuen to a particular FM radio station and be able to listen to the sirius.

If I am not mistaken there are several threads on this topic.

Honestly...I have NO experience with Sirius....so I cant speak about it at all. I have heard the programming is better though? I am just happy to have my XM I guess....nothing there...I just go CD! Most of the artists I listen to arent on radio or satellite at all anyway (underground).

I would sugest starting with those threads, then searching for 'sirius' there are tons of threads. I am going to close this thread because it has gotten off topic.
