My 3 month trial just ended in my 06 TL, and I waited a week and then reactivated using method described in this forum.

Twice they have sent reactivation signal and within 20 minutes I can scan thru all the channels. I go to 7 and 175 as instructed by XM rep. I set some buttons.

But after I turn the car off and back on again, all I get is chs 0,1, 247.

Am I missing some step?

If there is a problem with my xm radio, is it a single module, or will the whole radio/ navi have to be replaced?

If I disconnect battery for 30 minutes and then reconnect could that clear the problem?

Mine did this when it was new. I'm not sure what the problem was, but it has settled itself now. It seemed like it was triggered by multiple quick key starts, or moving the key from On to Off and back. Anyway, it acted as if it was receiving no signal at all or did not have any valid channels. Apparently it takes a while for the XM unit to receive the authorization code and to 'save' it.

BTW: the XM unit is a single box that lives in the trunk area, passenger side rear fender. The antenna is under the rear shelf to the passenger side of the subwoofer.

I had activation signal sent again this afteroon and waited a full hour before accessing the radio.

I swept thru all the channels on both XM1 and XM2. Then I switched to AM/FM, then back to XJM.

I then started the car and drove into the garage and the XM radio was working.
