Is the XM part of the radio transferable?

I am a lifetime subscriber on XM, and was wondering if we can somehow transfer the XM receiver? or unit to another vehicle or even to a house audio system? Seems like a waste to lose it when my car finally goes since I guess I technically have it forever. Has anyone any idea about the schematics of the XM on our cars? Is it integrated into our radio unit or is it a plug in and is actually a separate unit altogether?

You can probably just transfer your subscription to a different receiver.

I'm pretty sure the XM subscription is for the device ID attached to the car's audio system. Everything is possible, but you might have to leave the future owner of the vehicle without a radio unit.

If the subscription came with the car, it stays with the car. Unless you pay monthly, with an account, you will not be able to transfer as Acura has signed an agreement, part of a promotion or something and I believe they remain the account holder. Yamaha had a similar promotion, I think their first amp that came satellite radio gave all client a life time access. When I tried to call in and see if it was possible to add the option to get the app, the agent said this account doesn't techically exist

the lifetime subscription is tied to my radio..it was about $300 about 11yrs ago for this option. Expensive back then but now it has been over a decade without the hassle of renegotiating a new subscription like on my other car. Just wondering if I could somehow rip out the XM part and reuse it.
