XM deal for 2 cars?

Hi guys,

We just bought an 09 Odyssey for my wife with XM ability. Her trial period will expire about the same time my XM is up for renewal. What is the cheapest price anyone has gotten XM for more than 1 vehicle? What was the strategy you used to get it? I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to know.

Second Vehicle

They charge me an additional $9 a month for my wife's car. An offer XM made before Christmas '07. Don't know what its status is now.

Tripnbeats is probably correct. About ten minutes after the merger they sent me a subscription offer--if I pay for the whole year up front I can save $4 a month. I haven't taken them up on it. I certainly wouldn't jump on a "lifetime" offer just yet. I'm afraid that the car's lifetime, and mine, are likely to be longer than Sirius/XM's in its present form. They still aren't making money, they're stuck forever with two incompatible systems, the economy is in the toilet, nobody is buying new cars, and I see Chapter 11 just over the horizon, at which time we will all learn the meaning of "unsecured creditor." By the way, all you guys stiffing them out of $70 a year by "renewing for $77" are just bringing that day closer. Just my

Yea lifetime is $400 all required up front.

Monthly now its $10 monthly. If you call them and ask for info on if you extend your subscription to lock in the rates for a few years, they have a special to keep it at $8 monthly. But I think the expiration date for that is today so I don't know if it will still work but you can try it.

Have you heard the expression Buying retail is stupid? Just because they have a street price of $X doesn't mean that's what the service is worth. It's their MSRP, which as we all know can be easily negotiated down to $77/year. If they weren't happy with that amount, they would neither offer it nor accept it.

Sat radio has problems, but we're hardly "stiffing" them by paying a more reasonable amount.

Thanks everyone for your comments. When the time comes I think I'm going to shoot for no more than $77 a year for each car unless I hear of something better.

I just renewed in January for $77/yr on both my TL and my wife's Pilot. Second year for her's on the $77/yr deal and the third for mine!

It can be done as phred said and there is a thread about it, also, since their stock is hurting and has been since the merger they want customers bad and that's you...the customer. I may not renew next year for my car because I have my iPhone and iPod that I can listen to all day long with my own music.

Thanks. Good to know it can be done. Is the thread you mentioned part of the "renew..." sticky or a separate one?
