Wire Harness

Fellows, and Ladies (if any review this thread)

The attached photos are the Wire Harness for a NavTool 3.0 that was installed and working extremely well until one day when switching from Video 1 or the back-up camera to the OEM Navigatgion screen, the screen would flicker. After troubleshooting, it was determined the brown wire had become disconnected from the harness. I have been in direct contact with NavTool for a replacement harness, however, that process to this point, has been one-way with little support. In the interest of saving time, I am soliciting your thoughts on how to remove the pin and reconnect the wire. Do you think a local home stereo repair shop could reattach the wire? Maybe a local computer shop?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Pull the pin out by any means necessary . a pic tool? then strip back the brown wire and twist the strands together as tight as possible. tin the end with a soldering iron and shove it in the slot then tape or zip tie it in so it won't move. it will work if done correctly

Adding to that last comment first plug the harness in them shove the wire in. if you try to put it in first it will push out every time. sounds chinsey but I'm an installer and in some cases we need to pin harnesses. It's a last resort but I've done it dozens of times.

There are plenty of Honda after market plugs you can buy for the head unit since Hondas are so popular. Surely you can find one at an auto parts store in the stereo section or online. Just make sure the connector uses the same style of contact pins. The number of pins is irrelevant since you're interested in the pin and not the connector itself.

You can un-pin the connectors by using a terminal tool. Then just connect the replacement pin to the brown wire and insert the new pin back into the car's stereo connector.

You see the 4 rows of holes on the connector above? The big holes are for housing the pins and the small holes are for releasing the pins by inserting a terminal tool.

IIRC seen the connectors at Walmart in the car stereo wiring section.
