Why Not Get The Nokia 6230? HELP!

Anyone know of any reasons pro or con regarding the new Nokia bluetooth phone - due to hit the streets in a few weeks here in LA?

I've had great success with Nokia, so I'm tempted, but I'd like to kow what others can share on this subject.

Thanks!

if you are talking about the one that takes picture and stuff too then yes it seems to work good i was in a T-Moblie store looking for a bluetooth phone and I told him about linking it to the TL and so we went out to the parkinglot and hooked it up.

Cingular is who I was referring to. I'm told the 6230 will be available withing the next 1-4 weeks...but who knows when exactly it will happen.

Cingular has been saying the phone will be available within a month for the past 3-4 months. Its extremely frustrating. This phone has been available in Europe for a while now. I remember seeing someone on this forum that paired the 6230 with their TL successfully.

I did a search and found it for you. One weird thing tho, in the first thread he says the signal strength does not show. In the second thread, he states it does show. So not quite sure on that, but it does seem like a great phone. I hope cingular actually releases it before the end of the month. I'm definately getting one. I've had great luck with Nokia as well.

According to a Nokia rep I spoke to, the 6230 should arrive in Cingular stores 1 to 2 weeks after the N-Gage. Most Cingular stores received the N-Gage on Tuesday so the 6230 should be in soon.
As far as how it will work with the TL HFL, it seems that Sony Erricson's have performed the best. I recently switched from a Nokia 3650 to a SET616. The main thing I like about the SE is that I don't have to accept the pairing to the HFL on the phone everytime I get in the car. I just start the car up, leave the phone in my pocket, and go. As soon as I get my hands on a 6230 I'm going to test it in the car, if it works like the 3650 did I think I'll stick with the SE.

i've got it: the 6230 requires a manual connect every time you get in the car and drops the bluetooth link frequently, cingular updated firmware.... still got auto connect / battery strength missing / antenna strength missing / drops bt connect issues

No need for manual connect on the 6230- just set your bluetooth settings on the phone to choose "connect without confirmation." I've been using the 6230 in the TL and it works flawlessly, pairing up with the car automatically every time.
