White Cap In Armrest

there is a white cap that covers some kind of socket/plug in my armrest next to my cigerate lighter whole was wondering if anyone knew what that is and what can it be used for

pretty sure it's a courtesy light.

Courtesy light, it lights up when your headlights are on.

It lights up when your parking lights are on. Same goes for your glove box light. It will only come on if the light stalk is in the parking light mode or headlight mode.
