I'm planning on installing my Escort hardwire kit soon and I would like some input on where to put the smartcord display. i've tried searching and haven't find much. The only suggested place I've seen is next to the mirror control, but I'd like to see anywhere you guys may have put it. Has anyone been succesful in putting it in the center dash in the bottom pocket next to the dc outlet?

 

I used velcro tape and put it right on top of the plastic housing that hides the steering shaft (between the steering wheel and dash). It's easy to see, doesn't block any instruments, and it's easy to install.

I saw the thread where it was installed under the left drivers side vent. That's a good spot also, but it's more work since the cable needs to be fished through the air ducts. I believe the guy who did it also lost the ability to use the vent control wheel.

There is another thread where a guy put it in the ashtray bin. He actually had it mounted to the inside of the little door, so he could conceal it by closing it. I personally don't like having the display that low.
