Where is the microphone?
Have no clue where my manual is so please don't ask me to RTFM. 
I thought it was up where the garage door opener buttons are, like in cars with Onstar, but I don't see it up there. People can't seem to hear me too well with the HFL so I assume I'm screaming in the wrong direction inside the car.

You have two microphones on left & right sides of the homelink buttons. Make sure your windows are up, sunroof closed, and A/C fan on low speed for better results. It could be your phone not the HFL.
