What's this icon on my nav screen?

It's where the pirate's treasure is buried, of course!
I tried looking in the navigation manual (available here) and couldn't find that mark (then again this is the 2009 manual). I don't know if you marked it as a POI somehow... when you arrow over it with the control nob, does it say anything?

That icon is a red cross (as was suggested), indicating a hospital or major medical clinic of some kind.
I know this because there is a humongoid hospital three blocks from my house and it's an identical symbol to the one you posted.

It could just be that there either used to be a hospital/medical facility and the navi wasn't updated with that info, or in the worst case scenario, there is an error on the navi disc.
I wouldn't rule out the possibility of investing in a good spade and finding the loot, though. Just make sure it's not used needles lol

Try to hover the cursor over it and see if it gives you a pop-up as to what it is. Or even press the cursor button and see if a pop-up screen comes up.
The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that it's NOT buried treasure.
I think buried treasure would be marked with more of an "X marks the spot" kind of X. Like so:

I continue to be amazed (amused) at the number of TL owner's who simply do not use readily available information to answer these questions. From the Navigation manual, pg 43 (2004 version):
In that case, your question then is not "The little red symbol. What is that for?", but rather "Why is my navigation system displaying a hospital where none exists"?
It appears that there is an error in the database for your version of the navi cd. To find out what hospital that is referring to, drive somewhere near that location and use the voice command "find nearest hospital". That should give you the name and address that the database thinks belongs to that red X. If this command takes you somewhere else, then that red X would appear to be an erroneous artifact in the database. If the command takes you to that red X, then the database has an incorrect entry.
According to pg. 67, you can call Acura Customer Service and report this error.

Like I said, odds are it won't happen, but it's better to err on the side of caution. A missing gas station is nowhere near as big of an issue as a medical facility that is a ghost.

Looking at it again, at first I thought it was a red X at first, because it looked kinda distorted... but I think it's two 'hospital' points right next to each other, offset by 1 pixel down and over
